The Heralds are a collection of sentient followers of the World Eater dragons, people empowered by the
World Eaters to help them take over and destroy worlds.
World Eaters send Heralds down to planets' leaders, speaking their language to tell them about the oncoming threat of the
World Eaters and how to save their people. The Herald warns the people what is coming and what can be brought along on a trip to the stars, negotiating the time needed for the exiting of people before the planet's destruction. Even with Heralds, billions are killed by the
World Eaters on each planet they destroy.
The Heraldry
Heralds primarily come from a small handul of races for various reasons.
Tieflings made an ancient deal with the World Eater dragons.
Dragonborn often seemingly inherit Herald positions. Notably,
The Hunter Races and
Elves make up a suprising percentage of known Heralds, while tech based races make up none of the Heralds, no
IWAs or
Zith Tsar.
Heralds do not seem to know each other much at all. Communicaiton with Heralds has revealed they seem to communicate little to other Heralds and there is less organization between them as there is between the
World Eaters themselves. Thinking of the dragons conspiring seems far more worrying.
