Zith Tsar
Zith Tsar are techno-organic robotic sentients from a distant system. Thought to be the original worshippers of Clea, they have strange magical power over tech, creating their own (much less powerful) Holders and Techno-magical items. They often live in Hive Cities, places where their minds are shared with other Zith Tsar, for much of their lives.
Appearance
Zith Tsar have solid metal plate-like faces and usually humanoid bodies, which are wrapped in cloth to avoid showing their somewhat horrific organic metal frame. They have hands and feet that are somewhat reptillian and a light inside their mask-like faces and on their chests that can glow to their emotions. Not all Zith Tsar are humanoid, some have much more unusual multi-limbed shapes (though for DND Mechanics, these anomalies cannot be played by characters).Hivemind
Zith Tsar often live in larger, isolated cities known as Hive Cities, often far from other races' societies and often largely isolationist, though some cities do accept visitors openly. Zith Tsars inside the city are connected by the mind, able to sense the thoughts of nearby members through alien tech. The cities are extremely safe, semi-utopian, but also damaged by sentient nature: many Zith Tsar find ways to lie around detection and hide their thoughts on things to keep autonomy in this society. Hive Cities are addictive in a way: few ever want to leave the safety they provide and it's easy to get used to the security of knowing the opinions of those around you. Plus, with Zith Tsar Techspeak, technology is incredibly reactive and connected to everything you do there. Those who do leave often find jobs interacting with technology, using what they've learned from the Hive Cities. Some use their mental talents to find great careers in diplomacy and politics. There are many Zith Tsar across the galaxy, so even outside of Aldyn's few Hive Cities the race can be found quite easily around the system.DND Mechanics
- Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Intelligence score increases by 1.
- Age. The maximum lifespan of Zith Tsars is mysterious, there are some known thousands of years old. Relatively, many shutdown and "die" within a 200 year span, and reach adulthood at age 40, when their technomagical body grows to its full size.
- Alignment. Most Zith Star tend towards chaotic, due to their chaotic Hive City lifestyle, though many are often found as neutral, muted folk to their close friends.
- Size. Most Zith Tsar have similar proportions to Humans, but are slightly shorter. Your size is Medium.
- Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
- Technological Organism. You are considered to be a Construct and Humanoid. Your alien technomagical body grants the following construct-like abilities: You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage. You are immune to disease. You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe. You don't need to sleep and don't suffer the effects of exhaustion due to lack of rest, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
- Shutdown. When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn't render you unconscious, and you can hear as normal.
- Integrated Mechanics. Your body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor. You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you must remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way. While you live, your armor can't be removed from your body against your will.
- Techno-magical Power. Zith Tsars are known for their techno-magical powers they are often born with. You know the On/Off cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast Detect Network, Digitize, Digital Alarm, Infallible Relay, Keyword Trigger, Quicksearch, Remote Access, or Trick Machinery once as a 1st-level spell. You must finish a long rest to cast this spell again with this trait. You can change your spell choice on a long rest.
- Hivemind Remnants. You have proficiency in Deception, Insight, Investigation, Data, Technology, or Arcana.
- Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Techspeak.
