First Level of True Casting

Elementary casting, known as Sav among scholars of the Anon (Magic), is the first level of true Casting. What this means is casting using the energy (Daanan) within the Caster to cause magical effects. These are the castings that have the least drain on the caster. Unlike a Cantrip, casting higher magic drains can damage the caster, if done improperly. This is why most casters attend schools or take time learning from experienced masters, to train the body and mind to project their internal power outward safely. That said, elementary casting is the easiest to learn, with most experienced cantrip casters able to pick of the ability quickly with little ill effect.

Though it may seem obvious to most, it should be noted that elementary casting is the most common form of magic used by people. While many students graduate from Wizarding College at a higher level, most do not. Graduates of the university are only expected to master elementary casting. Though many will excel in the early years and thus move on to curriculum in the higher levels of caster, it is not required. It is also the most common form of casting, outside of cantrips, simply because elementary casting is the peak of casting for the uneducated. Meaning, any with the skill to cast cannot cast beyond the elementary level without intense education and training.
