Cantrip

the Caster's Chat

The word cantrip is an ancient term, possibly of Ancient Siduum origin. A cantrip originally seemed to mean any Magic purposely created by people, what modern society calls Casting. The word has been used in many cultures over the ages but comes into the modern vernacular in the time of the Republic of Lakorth. Since then, it use has become more defined as simple casting of everyday magic effects.

In the modern lexicon, a cantrip is any casting that primarily uses only Solanon energy in its magic. This kind of magic casting has little drain on the body and is easily repeatable without need of rest. It is the magic, as stated above that many use for everyday life, such as sparking fires for cooking or temporarily lighting a room. Cantrips are also the magic taught in the early education of a Caster.
