Structure

The Araskans organize themselves into numerous city-states that are ruled by great noble houses and princes and princesses. In times of need, the nobles can band together into a great meeting often called The Summit to elect a king or queen to lead a united force of the city-states.

Assets

The Great Cities of Araska got rich via trade with the world abroad. Thus the great armies that they field are extremely varied, ranging from exotic mercenary companies, to great and organized professional armies equipped with arms and armor bought from many places. Araska itself does not have many mineral resources, but its lands are fertile and green.

Demography and Population

The countryside of araska is, relative to other parts of The Empire, densely populated, for they are blessed by a plethora of different crops that can be grown in the river valleys of the land. The cities, however, are packed with diverse groups of people. Both highlanders and lowlanders will find communities where they will feel at home. There are a great many communities, grottos, and embassies from human civilizations abroad.

Territories

The lands of araska are rich in rivers and farmlands, thus it is mostly occupied by vast countrysides. The great Cities took control of portions of said countryside through a variety of means, ranging from simple and effective benefits that made working for a particular city-state profitable and preferable, to organized and well equipped and drilled police forces who patrolled the many villages and farms.

Military

As said previously, the cities varied in their military. Most, however, use their great riches to buy private military and paramilitary groups to fight for them. Said strategy has its drawbacks, with the mercenary companies hired by the great cities often backstabbing each other and performing schemes woven into other schemes, that leads to some of the greatest cities using highly organized professional and elite armies that are often smaller than the mercenary hired by their rivals but are highly loyal and difficult to bribe, thus granting them the advantage.

Religion

The great cities are home to a plethora of religions, faiths and philosofies, product of their many trade deals with factions and nations from abroad. After the creation of the Empire, however, non mortal gods and dieties were forever banned from the lands controlled by the empire. A great many resources have been spent by the Empire trying to purge and root out religious cults inside of the cities. Over time many interpretation of the oficial religion of the empire have been born inside the cities, and even entirely new religions that worship other mortal gods. Said branchings are tolerated by imperial agents.

Foreign Relations

While the Kingdom of Latrus was still alive the great cities often wage war with it, for they were called barbarians and uncivilized by the latruskians. Aside from that the cities waged war mostly against themselves but held profitable diplomatic relations with most powers abroad.

Agriculture & Industry

Agriculture is highly developed in the lands of araska. Great golden plains of wheat and green pastures full of bulls, sheep and even stags are very common. However, mines are not common, for minerals are lacking in these lands. Forges and smiths, however, are relatively common inside the great cities, who use exotic materials imported from different parts of the empire or from different nations entirely.

Trade & Transport

After the creation of the Empire plenty of stone roads have been built connecting most of the cities together and to the other parts of the empire. The transport of goods, however, is still fairly primitive. Great oxes, bulls and horses are commonly seen in the great road network transporting carts full of goods.

Education

The peasants are not educated beyond what their families provide them. The nobles, however, are known for their diplomatic prowess and their knowledge of many languages and different cultures.

In the past, the great cities used a universal and small gold coin as currency but often accepted the crowns from the neighboring Kingdom of Latrus. When the creation of the first Empire of Mankind took place all of the cities adopted the krub as official currency, but still accept other forms of currency.

Legislative Body
There are some laws that are universal through all of the cities, often created and enforced by the Empire. However, laws are mostly enforced by the local law enforcers and are created by the nobles in charge of the city.
