Demographics
All legal inhabitants and citizens are human, albeit humans from different ethnicities and nations. Like most of the empire, lowlanders are the most numerous group, but it is said that every ethnicity and group can find a place in Ariana where they can feel at home.
Government
The City of Ariana is ruled by a noble house called Abergo. They rule the city with cunning determination, having done that since way before the Empire was established.
Defences
The city has vast and thick walls. They are made of white stone and are very old, and are regularly doted with white towers and some gatehouses. Newer defenses, however, have been built, especially to protect some of the countrysides. Said newer defenses are somewhat different, being made of regular, grayish stone and thinner than the older ones.
Industry & Trade
The city is a hub for all kinds of trade, and its economy is reliant on small, independent traders and service providers rather than big guilds like the other cities.
Infrastructure
Ariana has a vast and old system of sewers and aqueducts. Rumors said that the Abergo family learned from the long dead latruskians long ago.
Assets
Deep inside the city there lies the great hall. Inside said hall there sits a small temple to Kruber, the seats of the current governors and a small trapdoor. Rumors say that said small trapdoor is almost indestructible even if made from old wood. Said rumors also say that a powerful and ancient
Guilds and Factions
Not many factions call Ariana home. Of course, the Imperial law enforcers have a small base in the city, altho alchemists are not often seen there. Aside from that, some minor trading guilds do exist, with one exception. The Great Guild of Pleasures makes its home in Ariana. Its leader, whichs true name is unknown but it is often called Larco, provide a great deal of... services.
History
The city, like some others from the Province of Araska, has been there before its human settlers appeared. Thus, its history is mostly unknown. Altho the city was besieged during the First War for the Land, it did not take much damage for that was near the end of the war and relief armies arrived before the gates were breached.
Architecture
The walls are made of white and thick stones, but its many buildings are mostly wood and built on top of each other, always trying to fit the biggest number of people as possible inside the smallest area. Deep within the maze of wooden structures there lies some big white stone buildings that were built very long ago.
Geography
The city itself was built on top a great hill, that was located in the very center of a big island between two rivers. The rivers act as a highway into and outside of the city, its two great ports forever sleepless.
