The Ghast

A land stalked by the damned

Created and edited by Lo, the Wise
The city is doomed, general, make no mistake. It will not serve as shelter, nor as a fortification... The city is dead... and only the dead lay claim to what is inside its walls.   -Queen Valentina planning her next move with her officials.

Demographics

The dead walk there... equally spread.

Government

The very few accounts from travelers and treasure hunters tell of a great ghost. Sometimes described as a ghastly and ethereal skeleton that wears fancy and ancient fur, and sometimes described as a more human-like ghost that even speaks to incoming humans. Tales and legends say that his ghost is the dead and forsaken spirit of the city's prince. He is now called the Great Ghost but was once called Prince Artori Margrine the Fat.

Defences

The city, aside from its countrysides and grottos, is entirely walled, with towers in regular intervals, gatehouses and even a smaller, slightly thinner stone wall around some of the outer areas.

Industry & Trade

The now ruined city used to be a trade hub, utilizing the nearby rivers as profitable trade routes. The city itself produced little, mainly foodstuffs such as fish and agricultural products and general goods made by the many skilled artisans that lived within its walls.   Nowadays, however, the city is dead and nothing is produced in it. even plants and fungi refuse to grow there.

Infrastructure

The city's sewers and aqueducts are still standing and even working in some sections.

Assets

When the curse fell upon the city it was ready for a long and arduous siege... and it is because of that that, to this day, even with its undead host of defenders, the city attracts adventurers and looters... There are a great many arms and armors inside the city... and its vaults are full of what was once Prince Artori Margrine's personal treasure vaults...

Guilds and Factions

The dead roam everywhere and the dead roam freely... controlling the city.

History

Unlike most cities within the araskan plains the Great Ghast, known in life as Maggrici, was built by its residents. It was built around an ancient keep that was used to police the trade that flowed through a nearby river.   As a result of its origins, the population of the city grew substantially.

Architecture

The city's architecture, aside from the main and central keep, is built as a ramshackle mess. Its walls, roads and docks, however, are average to well made.

Geography

The city itself is mounted ontop a big hill, at the center of an island. Around the island there flow two rivers who later merge into one.

Natural Resources

Nothing grows around this city... even the fish from the nearby rivers tend to leave its vicinity alone.
