    The Unprovoked War
    Military action

From the morning mist hanging thickly over the bay small flickers of light began to appear. One at a time until thousands of lights filled the horizon of the harbor, emerging from the mist an Armada of strange ships. Crewed by a host of pale elves, the invasion of Akosa had begun.

The First Age

The rise of the tempest separated Akosa from the rest of the world. Leading to a thousand year isolation.   The Post Tempest (PT) suffix was created here to represent events after The Tempest

    Rise of the Tempest
    Disaster / Destruction

Shortly after the invasion the nations of Toril sailed a fleet of mercenaries, nations, and willing sailors to combat the Elven Armada. Their arrival was met with a naval battle the likes of which have rarely been seen. The battle was not long lived however, from the calm seas rose a tempest that crushed the warring ships, scattering them to the ocean floor. The fury of this tempest was such that it shook the foundation of the island itself, sinking part of Talos Landing and breaking the unnamed islands on the southern shores, now known as the Shattered Isle

The Peace of The People is Signed
    Diplomatic action

The harsh reality set in that the isolation caused by the tempest may never end. The most powerful of the constantly warring people set forth to define an accord that would ensure the survival of all on the island... What a convenient miracle it was that the island provided all that was needed to survive.   The first peace accord divided Akosa into the three major regions, with the north, south and eastern sides being controlled by the largest groups in each region. The largely unexplored Adgahl jungle and the Great Sand Sea remained unclaimed for some time.

    First War of Succession
    Military action

This war marked the first division of peoples after the signing of the Peoples Peace Accord. The war itself was short lived with the limited resources each region could manage without working together. The end of the war saw the signing of the Silverlake Accord which called out the boundaries of each region more specifically and guaranteed a trade pact.

    Merchant Uprising
    Military action

Many scholars consider the Merchant Uprising to be the event that created the Akosa that we know today. The cause was noble, and the hearts of the people were pure, they fought for freedom and the end of the caste system that was created 200 years before with the Silverlake Accord.
The heart of the conflict was the small merchant guilds that operated the dangerous waterways of Akosa and the surrounding islands to deliver goods. From the farmlands ofSilverlake to the mines of Bhir Lodur and the halls of Talos Landing the guilds toiled support the growing economy. The Silverlake Accord prevented the guilds from collecting anything but a set fee and the rates decreased with time and pressure from the major factions. The end result of the war was the sacking of Sedja and the subsequent capture of the city by the guilds. Before the city could be completely destroyed the Armies of Talos Landing and Bhir Lodur were met by the newly founded Order of The Pantheon . The merchants guilds thought the end had arrived when The Pantheon instead declared the city for the guild and demanded a stop to the battle.   With the support of The Pantheon the guilds had no choice but to govern themselves in order to remove the watchful eyes of the other powers. This lead to the creation of the Tricorn Council and the eventual "election" of the Three Pirate Queens of Sedja.   The new leadership of Sedja promised a free city for all and an end to the slavery and indentured servitude that the other cities relied on so heavily, and so it was that Sedja became home to merchants, pirates, and escaped of freed peoples of Akosa.
