County of Katrach

Travel & Geography

The county of Katrach is 135 miles on the x axis, and 114 miles on the y axis. It stretches for 1.5 inches on the x, and 1.2 on the y, of the Sundermark map that is. It begins at Czarna Passage (The gap in the Graniczne Range west of Castle Katrach)
All of this assumes you travel at 24 miles a day, movin 3 miles per hour, with 8 hours of travel then.
Castle Katrach Region There is a road from Castle Katrach to Wysepka - Travel on this road takes roughly 2-2.5 days of travel. The straight distance as the bird flies is 36 miles between the town and the castle. On clear days you can make out the town from the castle, as well as from the bottom of the pillar that the castle stands on. From the road between Wysepka and Castle Katrach there is a branch of, which leads to the bridge into the Strachow Forest. When traveling from Wysepka, the journey to Czarna Passage takes about 2-2.5 days. That total distance is around 39 miles, but you are considerably slower traveling on an unrepaired and old road through the forest. Clearly few people travel to the pass these days. To get to just the bridge takes roughly a day of travel, since its 24 miles away from the town, and the path there is decently maintained.
The intersection where you can head to the Strachow forest is around 20 miles from Wysepka, and it takes less then a day to get there.
If you wish to travel to the Zaufalski Keep from Wysepka, that is roughly 60 miles of road, which is mostly well maintained. It takes roughly 3 days of travel.
To get to the lord's mens controlled bridge is about half a days travel, its around 12 miles of well maintained road. From the bridge you can follow roads to the following places:
    • Pazerski keep: 42 miles, 2 days along the road, with one day of travel to the crossroads
    • Ruins, 20 miles, one day of travel
    • Niewierny Keep, 38 miles, two days of travel roughly
Between Zaufalski Keep and Niewierny Keep the travel distance is around 40 miles, and takes about 1.75-2 days of travel.
From Niewierny Keep to the shallow crossing of the Dawn River its around 15 miles, or around 5 hours of travel

Population

There is roughly a total population of around 3,000 people in the whole county, making it a sparcely populated land, at least as far as humans are concerned. With other sentient species's counted, that number rises to about 5,000. There is nearly two thousand goblins living inside of Stratchow Forest, with a smaller population of about a hundread or so aarakocra living deep in the forest as well.
  Baronies
The County of Katrach is divided into five baronies. Zaufalski barony, Niewierny barony, Siwiec barony, Pazerski barony, and of course Katrach barony.
  Zaufalski barony
There is roughly a population of 400 in Zaufalski barony, without counting the considerable population of slaves working the mines. With that the number is closer to five hundread.
  Niewierny barony
This is the second most populated barony, with nearly 800 people living here. Nearly all of them live in the wiezek outside of the keep, though the area of the wiezek is quite large by Rynkowskian standards.
  Siwiec barony
Siwiec barony is desolate.
  Pazerski barony
Pazerski barony is the least populated barony in the county, having a meagre three hundread souls living there. Once it was a larger settlement, with a proper town outside of the keep, but since having been raized by the house Wierno a couple of centuries ago, it has yet to be allowed to recover to it's former heights.
  Katrach barony
This is the most populated barony, with almost a thousand people living here. It is also the capital barony.
