Lordship of Katrach

The Soldiers of the Lordship of Katrach are led by Thurh Stygesson , and they owe their loyalty to him, not the Sorcerer. These soldiers are not locals, but foriegners. They used to serve as mercenaries in the east, where they were employed by a khagan of Jigun' Mordoch. They were employed to plunder and ravage the coast of the Elysium Bay. There they used longships, built by Thurh and his brother Leirth, to cross the bay and conduct raids against tributaries and vassals of Zhun and The Tenjin Empire. One day however, Leirth fell in battle, and in his desperation Thurh went to a mysterious travelling medic by the name of Malakesh. During this visit Malakesh seized the mind of Thurh and made him completly obedient to him. Then, in the year of 1300 AR Thurh recieved a command, he was ordered to come to Castle Katrach, and so he did.   There they took the castle with the help of Malakesh, who would later name himself Lord of Katrach, and become known as the Sorcerer to the local people. Since then Thurh has served best as he can to Malakesh, his men are happy enough to serve as they have comfortable posistions, and are able to extort the local populace. These soldiers are a mix of hardy brutal veterans, and rugged cowardly bandits. About half of them are truly loyal to Thurh and would be willing to go through hell with him, while the other half only really cares for gold and comfort.   All in all, Thurh's troop consists of roughly one-hundread and twenty men. They have been spread out across Katrach, and they act as the enforcers of the Sorcerer. There are three appointed luitenants serving under Thurh, each one stationed in one of the three keeps around the county.   The one-hundread and twenty-five men in the group all have different skillsets, but they can be divided like this:
  • Footpad - 85 men - Thug statblock typically, bandit if weaker.
  • Scouts - 20 men - as expected these are scouts, tho often they will have a horse since they are also the messangers of the army.
  • Specialists - 20 men - Archers, Bards, sometimes acolytes, and other statblocks, this includes the leaders and such.
As mentioned, Thurh's men are divided up among important locations throughout the area. Here are details about their stations:   Wysepka
There are supposed to be thirty men stationed in Wysepka. Though Thurh travels around a lot, this is where he can most commonly be found. The soldiers have based themselves in one of the old inns. They took it over when the previous owner was arrested for conspiring with rebells against the Sorcerer. Since then, they have transformed it into their meeting place/drinking place. The first floor serves as their common room, and is usually where most of them hang out unless theyre out on patrol. The second floor is where the weapons are kept, acting as an arsenal. The top floor is reserved for Thurh. There are also two levels of basement, one smaller at the bottom which is a prison with two smaller cells, and one above that serves as the primary sleeping place for the soldiers.   Though there are thirty men stationed in Wysepka, in reality there are only twenty-five in the town at a time. Five men, five thugs to be exact, have made camp by the bridge east of Wysepka. They collect "taxes" on anyone who tries to cross unless they believe them to be working directly for the Sorcerer. While this goes against the orders of Thurh, he doesnt mind to much, his men are more then capable of controlling Wysepka without the extra five men.   Zaufalski Keep
Theres twenty men stationed in Zaufalski keep. Out of these twenty, all are thugs, with one exception, that being the liutenant who is an archer. Typically, you will find ten-fourteen of these soldiers in the mine, where they keep track and control the slave work that goes on. Since a year back, when the importation of labour began the men steadily began to phase out the actual inhabitants of the wiezek from the mine. Now, there are a total of around one hundread people working the mine every day, with around seventy procent being slaves.   The leader of this group is Ming Xiao, a talented archer who was recruited by Thurh in Zhun on a raid, he is a full-blown psychopath, and enjoys stalking about the corridors of the keep. Safe to say that most inhabitants have a hard time relaxing in the castle, knowing that he might be lurking around any corner. He is very loyal to Thurh as he has given him so many oppertunities to ply his trade, and hunt more intelligent creatures, like humans   Niewierny Keep
There are ten men stationed in Niewierny Keep, led by a dragonborn knight called Jackel. Jackel was exiled from Solzom at a young age for strangling another youth to death. Since then he has claimed the title of knight. He views himself as a noble and just man, who holds on to things like honour and righteousness. In truth though, once something goes awry or someone upsets him, he is just as brutal and cruel as any bandit or ruffian.   The men here have taken the cellar and stable from the keep, using them as their place of rest and enjoyement. As such, the Niewierny family no longer has access to any horses, and instead the soldiers all have their own mounts. Jackel rides a strong warhorse, which was formerly the property of the leader of the Niewierny family, that was until Jackel took it as "tribute". These soldiers spend most of their time patrolling the fields or in the cellar drinking and feasting. With abundant access to food and spirits, these men have become an unusually rowdy bunch.   Pazerski Keep
There are another ten men stationed in Pazerski keep, these ones are led by Thurh's own daughter, Rith Stygesson. Rith, is a decent person compared to most other soldiers in her fathers army. She appreciates nature and study, and while not particularly caring for others, she does not seek out violence or harm for her own interest. In truth she doesnt like being the leader of the men in Pazerski keep, and spends most of her days out in the forest. She likes to hide away in the woods and study her magic. She keeps these talents as a secret, for she fears that the Sorcerer might take notice to her, and have her become one of his pupils, something she wants to avoid.   Seeing as Rith takes little interest in leadership of the soldiers at the keep, a moon-elf bard named Emmyth Moonshadow has taken up charge. She is someone who has served with Thurh since the beginning, and she is fairly reasonable as a person. She puts more value in the title as a soldier of the land, and she hopes to avoid going back to brutal banditery. She also has a quest for anyone interested. She needs someone to investigate Baron Adok Pazerski. She worries that Adok has some of her own soldiers on his payroll, and she finds it most suspicious that the Baron gave up his soldiery when Malakesh became lord. She wants someone to track down any of the men who once worked as soldiers for the baron.   The men working under her take care of themselves mostly, leaving her be. They see her as a bit of a weirdo, but they are careful not to upset her, fearing the anger of her father. The men here use the former baracks of the Keep as their place of rest, and they spend most of their days being taken care of by servants of the keep.   When Thurh began to station soldiers all around the county, the leader of house Pazelski disbanded his own guard and soldiery, this was a show of loyalty, and it worked. Since then Pazelski has avoided much of the harassment that the other noble families have suffered. In truth though, the Pazelski family simply had the soldiers restationed. With Pavlina, the mayor of Wysepka enlisting the former Pazelski soldiers as guards in Wysepka instead.   Scouts
As mentioned previously, there are a total of twenty scouts within Thurh's little army, these are also spread out across the county. Though they are oftentimes on the move. Out of the twenty, there are two stationed in each keep, and Wysepka. There are also two who are stationed at Czarna Passage, there to warn of any invaders. And the other ten are typically out, spying and searching for revolutionaries. They all have access to mounts, and are able to travel quickly and quietly. Usually they move in packs of one or two.   The Inner Circle
In Thurh's army there is a small group of them, typically called The Inner Cirlce. This group is made up by some of the most respected and important members. In 1306 AR, the circle is small, but it is in many ways very tight. It's members include: Thurh Stygesson, the leader of the army; Jackel, the dragonborn knight who leads the detachment in Niewierny barony; Ming Xiao, the psychopathic liutenant in charge of Zaufalski barony; Emmyth Moonshadow, the bard who is, practically, in charge of Pazerski barony.   These four have always been close, though Thurh has in some ways grown distant from his friends. Since Thurh is possessed by Malakesh, he is only partially himself, and as such he is not the person he used to be in many ways. Beyond that though, the other three are quite close, even if their communication is limited.
