Beast Kingdoms

The Beast Kingdoms is an informal name for a group of states straddling the Wall of the World, so-called - especially by the folk of the Sacred Republic - because the region is home to a majority Yael population. As with 'beastfolk', the term Beast Kingdoms is deemed offensive by many, but remains a common exonym for a region which has no name for itself, since its constituents reject a collective identity.   The Yael populations of Northern Moraea include large numbers of pashak and featherfolk, as well as mastanda and yainah in smaller numbers. These lineages by no means account for the entire population of these states, which are home to significant minority populations of Humans, Dwarfs and Elves, as well as small numbers of other lineages and of course an uncounted number of Kobolds occupying subterranean warrens.   There are many states in the region, most of which are not, in fact, kingdoms, and it is a far from united domain. There is a network of alliances in place, however, to protect them from outside aggression and prevent internecine strife.
  • The Riverlands – Loose alliance of baronies, west of the Wall.
  • The High Eeries – Platform cities, high in the mountains.
  • The Backlands – Republic in the eastern foothills.
  • Sandy Hills – Militant principalities in the foothills of the Gap.
  • Big Green – The last remnant of the good land spoiled by the Eurosian floods and the advance of the Horde. Home to the majority of Yetheran mastanda.
