Sandy Hills

The Sandy Hills is an alliance of principalities lying to the north of the Gap of Don. These are militant territories, at the front line of the ongoing, undeclared war with the Donar Wastes, each one a largely feudal polity allied with, but not fully trusting in its neighbours.
The principalities of Sandy Hills were once part of the Republic of Land's Rising, but were cut loose generations ago in a dispute over defence support. The inner Republic opted not to send troops to engage in 'a local matter', as they deemed the repelling of marauding Giants and Giant-Kin.
Fiercely independent, their identities rooted in defiance, these principalities have a traditional distain for the Backlands, not abated by their reliance on Land's Rising for supplies and armaments.
