House Quma

The 4thmost house, House Quma wields the naval power of Kos-Maruag. Well versed in the art of sailcraft, they are the most rowdy house. The house loves to throw parties, and it is the house that interacts with the commoners the most. Despite their outwardly friendliness, they can still be one of the most dangerous houses to upset. The control they have over the ports and their influence with the people mean that those on their bad terms soon find that their businesses fail, influence wane, and the style quickly fall out of fashion.

Structure

Other than the Navy it runs, House Quma is barely organized. At the top, the Havoc dragons of the Koan family throw intense parties, both for the nobility and the common folk. Directly beneath them, the Sea dragons of the Mado family protect the coastlands from incursion and direct the navy. Copper dragons and Bronze dragons act as go-betweens and messengers from the houses, belonging to the Renth and Ooble families, spreading gossip and news from around Sarusan. Crystal Dragons from the Duil familiy act as grand architects, crafting ideas both for physical improvements and social ideas.   Like all the great houses, the Eliatropes follow the same hierarchy as the dragon they stem from. Havoc eliatropes become bards, extoling the greatness of the dragons to the common folk. Sea eliatropes become ship captains, coordinating ocean travel and hunting down pirates. Copper and Bronze eliatropes act as couriers, jesters, and entertainers, while Crystal Eliatropes act either as jewelers, appraisers, or craftsmen, dictating the style of the culture.

Public Agenda

House Qumar is charged with maintaining the eliatropes navy and dealing with the residents of Akvar. Since most travel to Kos-Maruag comes by sea, they are also in charge of customs, maintaining a strict watch over who can enter and leave the island. They also have great influence over the style and the culture of Kos-Maruag, as they often work close to the common folk and are the most-liked house of the families. Part of their duties is keeping the populace distracted by fun events in rough times.
