High Bank
The High Bank is a tall gleaming silver building with a central spire that stands above the rest of the city, trimmed with gold and a with large golden key at the top. Two shorter towers stand to either side of the middle, still taller than most the other buildings nearby.
The High Bank represents the seat of the Bank of Abadar in Zenris, and doubles as the financial capital of the city. Its position at the edge of the Thrindrongol Market also helps to give the feeling that Abadar is personally involved in the running of the city.
Currently the High Bank is overseen by Archbanker Grylior Goldbeard, and its Justicars are led by Raad Flintthorn.
Architecture
The main entrance is an arched double doorway buffed to glean like silver with two statues of Dwarven Justicars in full armor flanking either side. Guards are also posted in front of the doors at all times, day and night, and most people avoid the entrance unless they have business inside.
Despite the more worldly direction of Abadar’s worship, the inside of the High Bank shows the divine influence on its construction. The interior feels like a massive cathedral with columns and arches reaching all the way to the roof of the building. The floor is laid with large polished dark slate tiles with gold inlaid between them, and that gold trim travels up the side of the columns as well. At the back of the building is a raised altar with the shrine to Abadar himself. A large solid gold key lays across the altar with candles on gold and silver mounts on either side. Below the altar to the left and right are doors made of metal bars which lead back to the offices of the church and the vault within the Bank.
One entire side of the High Bank is devoted to business and trade, and is taken up by well crafted tables and chairs, as well as several office areas for more private conversations. The other contains a wall of frescos of Abadar himself that separates the Justicar barracks from the public areas.
