Justicars of Abadar

The Justicars are the militant arm of the Bank of Abadar, mostly made of Paladins and Inquisitors. While they have been deployed in offensive operations, they are primarily designed as a defensive force meant to help facilitate the main tenet of the church: trade.

Each Bank maintains its own detachment of Justicars, numbering between 40 and 100. The High Bank is the outlier, where approximately 400 Justicars are housed.

Weaponry

Justicars are often very well armored, and set up similarly to the Army of Nicaea. Most are wearing half or full plate, and wielding halberds, lucerne hammers, or warhammers. Occasionally they will carry maces and shields for close combat, and most will carry heavy crossbows when traveling away from their posts.

Training

Justicars are pulled from the faithful, and often in early adulthood. This often means they have some training before joining, and are often in peak physical condition. Training involves a strong focus on personal combat, alongside classes in the tenets of the faith.
