Enhjuls/Velocipedes

Discovery

Unmistakenly inspired by the autocarriage invented in 1559, Velocipedes, or as they were later dubbed by Ezlekhians and Vomethndans as Enhjuls, were a cheaper and much more compact mode of transport whose engine allows it to charter great distances while also doing so with great fuel-efficiency. Promatican Velocipedes have a quite distinct appearance, sporting a sleek front wheel and a beefier back wheel with a shape made to break wind on either side of it and propel its rider like a projectile through air. These craft can typically carry up to two people on their leathery seats, and have enough strength to carry 500 lbs of load and still travel at great speeds.   Enhjuls are Ezlekhian/Vomethndan Enhjuls do have a few important distinction from Velocipedes, those being that Enhjuls are able to use magical fuel sources (such as fantasma crystals) and that Enhjuls are sleeker: Only sporting one wheel on their bottom, offering room for 2 passengers versus Velocipedes' 2-wheel design allowing an extra seat in the ride's back.

Access/Availability

Offering a much smaller and more efficient drive than autocarriages, these cycling vehicles are fairly often seen in Vomethnda. In both Vomethnda and Promaticous, these transports are often driven by those whose jobs involve decent amounts of travel, such as Vomethndan gang members roaming the plains, travelling salesmen (if their products are compact), or everyday workers who need to cross Malnova's most-massive cities. These motorized machines can be found in a couple of shops in minor and major cities around Vomethnda and Promaticous, with the only barrier of entry to driving one being its high manufacturing price, costing (on average) around 75 Gold a pop. These sleek vehicles can also be rented from businesses in prosporous cities such as Gol-Duulga, Tsetserleg, and Utdanning.

Manufacturing

These vehicles are produced in the same cities which Autocarriages are produced, though their assembly process does differ somewhat from Autocarriages. Their engines (whether solely fuel-guzzling engines for Velocipedes or Fantasma Engines for Enhjuls) are typically assembled in a safe laboratory setting, and then are later dropped into the front of line-assembled shells of iron, nickel, and tin which have all been heat/cold-stressed for greater strength of these lighter materials.

Social Impact

The emergence of Velocipedes/Enhjuls as a method of travelling speedily over great distances has brought greater consistency and reliability to certain businesses, with many mail couriers, information-brokers (such as Shuudanchid) and personal package delivery services choosing them over autocarriages. These vehicles are also the go-to rides of choice for Vomethndan clan members, with specially modified Enhjuls being strapped with weapons to break through enemy lines and even immobilize enemy vehicles using sharp blades or minor explosives   These vehicles also have cliques which have formed from those who enjoy riding them in-tandem with one-another, these groups typically being known as Gangs. These motorheads may go on scheduled rides through and around certain cities, and some even enjoy performing showy tricks as a group in specially-designed obstacle courses or in particularly difficult terrain such as through the Feramonto Mountains and the Gaineamór Desert.

Saving Throws: Has proficiency with DEX Saving Throws, and proficiency with the Saving Throw of your Spelllcasting Ability (WIS if you have no Spellcasting Ability)
Damage Vulnerabilities: Fire (if fueled using a liquid fuel)
Damage Resistances: Non-magical Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing damage.
Damage Immunities: Poison, Psychic
Condition Immunities: This object is immune to all conditions

Object: The Velocipede/Enhjul counts as an object, and it can haul up to 500 lbs of creatures/objects. All damage it takes is reduced by 10, and if the mending spell is cast on the vehicle for 1 hour, it regains 2d4+prof HP   Fueling: Each hour which this vehicle operates requires the spending of one half-liter of liquid fuel, the vehicle running on dashing speed requires one liter of liquid fuel per hour of operation. Types of liquid fuel include whale diesel and synthoil. Alternatively, these vehicles can run off of fantasma crystals, typically requiring only a quarter of a pound of the crystals to run per hour of operation, though this does wear down the engine significantly faster.   Found Vehicle: If the Find Vehicle spell has been used to create this vehicle, its INT, WIS, and CHA modifiers and saving throws are equal to yours   Crash Course: Upon driving this vehicle into a space occupied by a Medium or smaller creature, it must make a DEX saving throw [DC = 8 + your DEX Mod + Proficiency (if you have vehicle proficiency)] or that creature takes [1d8 + Proficiency (if you have vehicle proficiency)] Bludgeoning damage. The vehicle takes the damage dealt to foes, this damage cannot be reduced

Actions

This object cannot take its own actions   While on the Velocipede/Enhjul, you can use your action to Dash using three times the Velocipede's/Enhjul's speed   Additionally, you may use your action while on the Velocipede/Enhjul to Peel Out   Peel Out: Upon spending half a liter of liquid fuel or a quarter pound of fantasma crystals as well as 25ft of movement this turn, a 20ft radius centered on your vehicle becomes enveloped in a thick cloud of black smoke. Creatures in this area, including yourself, are heavily obscured for the next minute, and upon starting their turn in this cloud take 1d4 force damage by breathing in the smoke. The cloud can be dispersed from a moderate or greater gust of wind.

Invented using a refined design of autocarriages, the Velocipede (the two-wheeled design from Promaticous) or Enhjul (a one-wheeled variant from Vomethnda) is a sleeker and more-compact mode of transport which was designed to be a cheaper alternative to the bulky autocarriage while also increasing the fuel efficiency. This suited-up bicycle/unicycle seats two to three people, and is commonly used by those who travel large distances like Malnovan couriers and Vomethndan Clans.
Parent Technologies
Inventor(s)
Velocipedes were invented by a mail courier from Promaticous who was looking for a way to carry his loads of letters on his trips throughout the northern Promatican plains and navigate portions of the Feramonto Mountains much easier.  After removing the shell from an Autocarriage, this Planeswalker realized he could simply downsize the axles and wheels to allow for the machine to be much less bulky for the cost of its strength.
