Knalos
Faronian desa: Knalos /khnaːlɔːs/
Knalos is a province in the central and southern Kingdom of Faron, covering the region between the lower Gyþen- and Únnen river to the west, the coast of Silver Sea to the south and the Tó Plain to the east. It's bordered by the provinces of Nalþos and Keftíos to the north, Jelharis to the east and Harúnnen beyond the lower Únnen River to the southwest.
Knalos' main settlements are the provincial capital of Marpa to the northeast, Jólta to the west and Ókolis to the northwest.
The name refers to the ancient knalótans, the largest tribe in the region before ancestors of the Faronians migrated there. Though they've long since become extinct as a separate culture, knalótan influence is still present in faronian architecture -the use of colourful frescoes in particular- and local accents in the region. It's one of the most populous provinces in the kingdom and a major producer of traditional blue pottery.
