Mithriac Material in Adventures in Valerick TTRPG | World Anvil

Mithriac

Mithrium holds a great deal of power beyond its value as a crafting material. Lightweight, yes, stronger than steel, most certainly. However its true value is the way it smelts together with Tacturnium, when mixed two parts to one to create a Mithriac, the metal alloy used for its unique magnetic field to form the core of Magnacore engines and reactors. Infinite energy, infinite power, though such a device must be monitored and carefully maintained. The orbits of the manna gem slivers must be monitored and kept in careful calibration.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Smooth, cool yet almost electric to the touch, a bluish silver hue.

Physical & Chemical Properties

A strong yet highly balanced and perfectly synchronized manna and magnetic field, which is why it is used for Magnetech. Near indestructible, yet containing a lot of potential energy, enough that it can be felt from distance, an almost eerie static electricity effect.

Origin & Source

Originally discovered by Whittle Fizzgidget the II, the eventual patten holder of the Magnetech Engine, this accidental discovery is the sole ignition point for the other half of Valerick's swiftly booming industrial revolution. Magnetech engines unlocked a potential never considered before, a potential that even locomotion did not. Flight. For the core is a conduit, not a battery, it is a focus point, a feed loop if one will, and eventually bright minds figured out inventions such as the Manna Sail, Manna Boosters and more to allow for flight. Sky-ships would not exist if not for this single material.

Life & Expiration

So far as has been seen in the century since its discovery, this elemental compound is perfectly balanced, showing no signs of decay, though some do theorize that such is not the case, that eventually, given enough centuries, or perhaps a thousand or more years, a decay and loss of functionality would become apparent enough to need to replace old cores with new ones. For now however, there seems to be no indicators of any such potential issues.

MRC

Type
Metal
Color
A brilliant bluish silver, almost seeming to glow
Boiling / Condensation Point
N/A
Melting / Freezing Point
North of 10000 degrees Celsius would be needed to melt this alloy once it is properly formed. Cold does not seem to affect or alter it at all.
Density
It is lightweight, yet dense for its shape and size, a unique and odd material to handle
Common State
It must be made, and therefore is most commonly found in the perfect spheres that range in diameter from 3-6 inches depending on the size of the engine to be powered.

Psst - just so you know, the Like button doesn't work on this article.

O.O now that's interesting cause I don't mess about with CSS and coding stuff yet so I have no clue how that would be broken. I'll have to go into the editor and see if I accidentally clicked a button or something. Thank you!

You probably have an open BBC bracket somewhere. Check your BBCode and I'm sure you'll find it

There was one, dunno if it would have fixed it though lol. I hadn't closed a

command

Like button is working :) Also "Magnetech" a word not read frequently. Sparks my imahination and makes me want to read more about it.

I have not yet written much about the strange technology known as Magnetch but I definitely need to get more. Who knows maybe some of the next few camp prompts may bring me there. :)
