The Templarhood

The Templarhood has been the most widespread military force in Adremesis for over 900 years, with a main focus on peacekeeping and protection of civilians. Templars are easily recognised by the masses and have many times showed their worth and value to the many towns, villages and cities across Adremesis.   Though in 347 AFB, Supreme Templar Michaelon became the leader of the Templarhood and he has militarised the organisation greatly, sparking civil unrest and fear in many places across Adremesis, and his influence only seemed to be expanding.

Structure

The Templarhood is led by the Supreme Templar, below him are the Generals, the Lieutenant Generals and Major Generals who make up the 'Templar High Command' .Templars of these ranks have their own regiment that they command, and all in the High Command are responsible for military procedure, public safety and overseeing the training of the Templars. The Supreme Templar often uses the High Command as advisors for his duties too. Below them are the Brigadiers, who very rarely have a seat in the High Command but are not unknown to. They take charge of 1 or 2 battalions and report directly to the High Command, can supervise the training of their men, and organise military tactics on the battlefield. Under them are the Colonels and the Lieutenant Colonels, and they can lead a battalion if necessary or 2 or 1 companies (120-150 Templars) respectively they often supervise the training of their men and are responsible for ensuring that the protocol Treaty of Shared International Protection is strictly followed by their men and a play large part in connecting the lower ranks to the higher ones.   Below them are the Majors, They take charge of 1-2 platoons and are the first point of call for the lower ranks if a significant problem arises. They are responsible for personally overseeing the training of at least 1 platoon and also for managing the public relations between the Templars and the particular settlement that they are stationed at and thus ensure that Treaty of Shared International Protection is being adhered to standards acceptable by the settlement. Below that are the Captains that lead 1-2 squadrons and deliver the training of their men with guidance from the Majors. They are depended on greatly by their men and lead the rotations of the Treaty of Shared International Protection. They are the first point of call for their men when a more minor problem arises. Below them are the Lieutenants and Second Lieutenants who are Templars that have been recognised to have completed a sufficient amount of training and thus help their inferiors out with regards to training or for other support, and there is usually 1 per squadron. They lead their squad in the absence of their Captain and know their men on quite a personal level. The bottom rank is the regular Templar, one that has recently joined the order and whose only responsibility is to carry out the orders of their superiors.

Culture

Templars whole-heartedly believe in their motto that dates back all the way to their founding, 'Defenders of the Peace', they are also devout to the ethos of the Holy Order and believe that they are a great asset to Adremesis.   But in 347 AFB when Supreme Templar Michaelon was ascent to the role, the Templarhood became a lot more militarised, many still believed fully in the true values, but some weren't nearly as devoted, and only became Templars due to the perks that Michaelon had instated.

Public Agenda

The Templars are sworn to protect the people of Adremesis and do so out of faith to the Almighty and the Pope, as they have done for over 900 years. Many Templars have loved ones and join the Templarhood as a way to protect them.

Assets

The Templarhood gets a lot of funding from benefactors of the Holy Order, and have many troops, weapons, armour, ships etc and they are spread all over Adremesis

Foreign Relations

The Templars have good relations with some settlements, grateful for the protection that they provide, though they often have worse relations than the rest of the Holy Order due to the tensions and conflicts they can bring as a result with the rivalry with Talbury.

Unified

The Holy Order has always held their Templarhood in high regard and their symbiosis and parity has never been in doubt.

The Templarhood appreciate that Ifrad keep to themselves far more than Talbury does. They have also sought after Ifrad's elite training regime and have trained together every once in a while. Supreme Templar Michaelon and Commander Militaur also share similar ideals, which boosts their relations.   Ifrad sees the Templars as very loud soldiers - always trying to weasel their way into other people's business in the name of defending them. Ifrad also sees them as inferior, knowing that the Templars chase after their far superior soldiery. They trust them though, and know that the Templars can be a reliable ally.

On-edge

While their relations are positive, the Templars think they are the rightful defenders of Adremesis and the Talbrians think they are the rightful defenders of Adremesis. This back-and-forth means that they are both at odds and did not have the best relations. This did change in 332 AFB with the Treaty of Shared International Protection which did help solve some of the tension between them. This did not entirely change their general opinion of each other and will sometimes still clash (diplomatically) but never about anything too serious.   Specifically, many people in Talbury, including much of the Watch, think that the Templarhood is full of fanatics. Meanwhile in the Templarhood, many of them think that Talbury doesn't have the divine right to protect Adremesis and think that Talbury is trying to pry it from them.

Warring

Despite both organisations being controlled by the same person, they are at war across Adremesis, though some factions of the Anarchy are less involved in the war than others
