Supreme Templar

The Supreme Templar is the leader of the Templarhood, he holds great power and responsibility and is often revered for his great intelligence and combat skill.

Qualifications

Candidates for the Supreme Templar are chosen from a young age and are put in excellent education that covers how to govern the order, public relations, arms training, politics, military tactics etc which lasts for 7 years which includes a placement year in the order. There are usually 12 students chosen for the programme and all graduates are usually guaranteed the rank of Corporal or above. The programme is held every 15-20 years, as required. Graduates from each programme are ranked based off of performance and the best is offered the role as it opens up first, new and older graduates can compete for the role.

Requirements

Graduated the Supreme Templar Ascension Programme. No incidents of corruption or disciplinary action taken against the individual.

Appointment

An individual is 'ascended' to the role by the Pope, who has received the blessing from the Almighty in a special ceremony called the 'Holy Ascension' that takes place in Deorum.

Duties

The Supreme Templar oversees everything in the Templarhood, it is his duty to ensure the safety of all of the Holy Order's followers in Adremesis. He supervises military tactics in times of crisis and public safety during large events. He can authorise or decline any plan of action in the Templarhood and is in charge of promotion and enrolment into the Templarhood.

Accoutrements & Equipment

As with all Templars, the Supreme Templar is only permitted to carry one weapon and wears the Supreme Templar Uniform, which is more decorated on the shoulders and is an expensive material, maximising agility and protection.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Pope is able to disgrace the Supreme Templar though this has never happened in the title's history.

Cultural Significance

The Supreme Templar is known throughout Adremesis and is respected by most though few deem the role as too militaristic.
