Looker
(Losav-ko in Raxarian)
A Raxarian rank created as a way for the Raxarians to silently observe the humans and their use of Adremesis. The Lookers will not interfere in any capacity as doing so will dishonour them. Maljiti values their work greatly as it allows him to keep track of how the humans are doing. The Raxarians would only intervene if something absolutely dire was ensuing that they must stop. Say, the destruction of Adremesis or the opening of the Void.
Requirements
Be a Maelsium Raxarian and be able to, not necessarily fluently, understand the common human tongue well. It can only be to Maelsium Raxarians as they are the ones most proficient in the magic required for the rank.
Appointment
Maelsium's Dragon Speaker assigns the rank to Maelsium Raxarians deemed exemplar and worthy of the case.
Responsibilities
They must observe a human settlement, mostly focusing around leadership, while staying completely out of sight and mind. Any human knowledge of the Raxarians' existence is extremely dangerous and cannot be risked. Their findings, if any at all, are to be reported back to the Maelsium Dragon Speaker. Important details include anything related to conflicts, public issues, deaths of key people (be it natural or not), and other crucial topics.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The only requirement in terms of outfit or equipment is to wear all black. Whether that be light Maelsium raxorium armour, a black ooives, or some other light outfit. This is to maximise the ability to hide in shadows and help them navigate unseen at night. Other than that, they are allowed to carry whatever they please, as long as it isn't too compromising.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Every few days, the Looker will report back to the Dragon Speaker (usually via the Voice of the Flow but they often do it personally). They are to leave out no important detail, if they are found to be either lying or not telling of some information, they are quickly stripped of their rank and honour. Depending on the seriousness of the case, they may even be exiled.
History
The rank of Looker was created after the events of the Lord of Chaos' attack on Asceroth. When Ifris finally opened the Void and sealed away the Lord of Chaos along with the other Sages, the Raxarians sensed a great disturbance in the Natural Flow. Kærex, Zhikhonvenix, and Maljiti all left Nyet Yem to investigate what caused it and discovered that it was because the humans had opened a portal. It was at this moment that the Raxarians realised the humans were becoming more powerful than they initially expected. To keep an eye on them and make sure they both don't destroy themselves or the world, the Lookers were created.
The Shadow of the Forest was a folktale about a mysterious guardian that protected wayward souls in the forest from harm. In actuality, not that anyone knows it, they witnessed a Looker Raxarian before it vanished. This is the only time such an event has happened and is just proof of how dangerous a looker being seen can be.
