Dragon Speaker

The Dragon Speaker was the title given to Raxarians that had shown their strengths and prowess to the highest honour. So much so, that the Dragon Lord themselves personally requests that that Raxarian becomes the Dragon Speaker.

Having this title is the only way to talk directly to their respective Dragon Lord. Each Lord would have only 1 Dragon Speaker at a time. The title would generally only change to a new Raxarian if the original died somehow, but there was nothing to stop a Raxarian being a Dragon Speaker if they didn't want to.

Appointment

When the Dragon Lord notices the deeds by the Raxarian, they will be summoned to them. The Raxarian would then swear an oath of allegiance and honour to the Dragon Lord. The Raxarian would then have to perform a slightly adjusted version of the Yelarvanislienthix. Upon its completion, the appointment is official.

Duties

The Dragon Speaker must lead the Dragon Lord's settlement. They must inspire their brothers, maintain peace, develop infrastructure and technologies if need be, but most of all, they need to be a courageous warrior. Leading their fellow Raxarians into battle is the main role.

Benefits

This is the only way to talk to the Dragon Lords personally. That may not seem like much, but the Dragon Lords were basically Gods to Raxarians, so it was seen as the greatest possible honour they could ever achieve. Dragon Speakers would live like any other Raxarian. There are no fancy homes, butlers, or difference in "wealth".

Accoutrements & Equipment

A type of cape, called a khalavat, that is adorned to the Dragon Speakers armour, it's colour is the same as they are.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If the Dragon Speaker were to do anything that could dishonour them in some way, then they could immediately lose the title if they cannot redeem themselves. The only exception is if they were to be exiled, if so then they lose it instantly with no second chances (along with being cast into the Void of course).

Cultural Significance

Being a Dragon Speaker is seen as being almost on-par with the Gods (though saying something like that would probably mark you a heretic) since they can directly talk to the Dragon Lords.

Notable Holders

Valerik was Infermius' third Dragon Speaker and has remained as such for over 2500 years.   Kærex, the leader of the Seekers, has been Avaking's only Dragon Speaker since his creation.   Maljiti, another Seeker, was offered the role of Dragon Speaker to Maelsium, but denied it on the ground that he preferred to stick to his duties as a Seeker.   Giemanåramin, second Dragon Speaker to Infermius, was killed during the Battle for the Losyex Ølæm in 2451 BFB.   Serezhitini, Infermius' first Dragon Speaker, went mad and committed heresy near the start of the War for Adremesis. He was promptly exiled.
