Echo, formally Ethan, is revealed to be a Changeling as the true Ethan Beleroth returns home after having escaped from Tanith,his witch captor. He would sally out with a retinue of knights lead by a defkalion months later to kill her with the family sword; The fury of Beleroth.
They met in Aldershall when Corbeau was busking in the street. Echo was warned by Tanith that this busking wanderer held the seed of great magic. Fearing the rather ominous man would use this power for evil, he decided to do like the Defkalions he looked up to and investigate. During the course of the investigation, Corbeau instead managed to find out the truth about Echo, his changeling nature and confronted him. Mutually assured destruction kept the pair from acting against the other, but as they interacted they grew to like each other.
Deep is forced by the elders of his tribe to leave his underwater home.
Sancho contracts a criminal network to carry out an assassination. They put Deep on the job. However, Sancho changes his mind and tracks down Deep to prevent the assassination from taking place.
Amyndas and Deep meet when the Defkalion is hired to kill a vicious sea monster, a siren. Amyndas discovers that there was no siren, only Deep. Amyndas elects not to kill the poor elf. They decide to partner up instead.
Amyndas, Deep and Sancho travel to Aldershall on a quest to apprehend the "drama king", an evil sorcerer who creates conflict between people for fun: Corbeau. Echo, realizing that a real deal Defkalion was hunting his friend tried to cover for Corbeau. However, he overcompensated and alerted the hunters to his existence. He was eventually tracked down by Sancho. Deciding that Echo was no evil monster, Amyndas elected to spare him.
The group was hired by the Count de Aldershall to kill a barghest plaguing his lands. The group attempted to trap and kill the creature. Incompetence and lack of cooperation proved the bane of their endeavour. Instead of a barghest, they set fire to a large wolf; which in turn set fire to several fields, and perhaps a nearby village. The group was told to leave the County of Aldershall following this fiasco.
The group arrived in the town of Vaalor, and discovered most of the population had been killed by a halfling necromancer named Zanobi. Only a young novice of Sol and a bard were left to tell the tale. The group set out towards the town of Ottone, where Zanobi's servant had invited them to see the master's new show.
The group arrived in Ottone. Quickly they discovered the work of Zanobi, curses beer meant to link people together and simultaneously kill them. the group convinced many people in town to get rid of the beer, and alerted the Church of Sol to the danger. Having done this the group travelled into the woods, where they suspected Zanobi might be found. Instead of Zanobi the group found three Deathlocks performing a magical ritual. They disrupted the magic after a hard fight, before setting off towards Ottone again.
The group hunt down "the cattlesnatcher". They discover that a party of goblinoids and orcs also hunt the creature, which turns out to be a mechanical construct in thrall to a Barrier Fortress. The group allows the Orcs to fight and subdue the Retriever, before swooping in to take it for themselves. After humiliating the Orc leader they let him go. The group then sells the Retriever to servants of the Count de Aldershall.
The group investigates a murder mystery, and discovers that a Defkalion commited the crime!
The fortress of Callimno fell to the Duke of Ciello. Now only the Alberpase stands between him and the rebellious north.
The gang finds a remnant of Zanobi underneath a warehouse in Reddingfield. There they learn much about his plans. The necromancer told the group that the world has been surrounded by a barrier, which keeps the gods and interplanar magic out. He believes that the Church of Sol and the Circle of Magi are behind it. Why? In order to control the world! But can his wild theories about the nature of the world, and the Church of Sol be trusted?

Duke Belaroth assaults Count of Aldershall's position at the Alder pass. After a full day of fighting the duke's forces breach the defences and force a passage through. The remainder of the count's forces retreat towards Aldershall. Many of the nobles of northern Ciello lower their banners and bend the knee to the Duke following this victory.
The Duke of Ciello lays siege to the town of Aldershall in an attempt to defeat the count of Aldershall. Little does he know that the vile necromancer Zanobi has plans to use the gathering of thousands of fighting men for a very different purpose...
