Personal history
Valeria was born to the powerful Munii clan in the Evonian Republic. She was the seventh child of the primary branch of the family. The family had already invested heavily in securing public offices for her older siblings. Despite her family's considerable resources their finances were strained. As such Valeria had little hope of advancement through the cursus honorum.
Unwillling to live a life of obscurity she followed the example of other elven discontents; she would make a name for herself outside of the Republic. Valeria assembled a small ragtag army of adventurers and mercenaries around herself. She did this by leveraging her family's name to borrow obscene amounts of money, and by making promises of future rewards of wealth and positions to her followers, should their venture prove successful.
In 826 she invaded island of Pergina. Though superior discipline and magical prowess Valeria and her army easily seized control over the island. The victorious elves seized power on the island.. Her followers became the new nobility, while she became queen.
Since then she has resided in the island's flurishing capital, in a palace built in the elven style. From here she has ruled the island, with the goal of turning it from a rural backwater, into a economic and political powerhouse.
Education
Like most other members of the elven nobiles class she was educated at the University in Axendria, where she recieved a complete classical education; including amongst other subjects instruction in rethoric, logic, mathemathics, and arcana.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Valeria's most famous achivement was her seizure of a queenship, an unusual, though not unheard of event for an elf. However, she herself considers her accomplishments as the islands ruler as her greatest achivement, not the conquest itself. During her time as queen the inhabitants of Pergina has seen their lives improved in a number of ways. Crop failures have become a thing of the past, as has hunger, due to the adoption of elven magical-agricultural techniques. Feuding between the prominent human families of the island, have been stopped by the new regime. The kingdom has also been at peace since Valeria's conquest, improving her prestige with the common folk.
Failures & Embarrassments
Although ambitious and reasonably charismatic Valeria was considered unpromising by her family, who chose not to sponsor her political career in favour of more promising siblings. She made an inderpendent attempt at securing an Aedileship in Axendria, but failed. The failure prompted her to seek a path towards greatness outside the Republic.

Motivation
Like most members of the elven nobiles Valeria was raised from birth to be ambitious. The elven aristocracy are encouraged to participate in a ruthless competition for political positions in the Republic. This Cursus Honorum is not only a way to gain power. Far more important is the honour which high office confers on the officeholder. To be elected to a consulship or a tribunate does not only honour the magistrate herself, it also honour their entire family in the current generations, and in all future generations. Valeria shared the goals of her class, yet were unable to achieve them. Leading her to seek other avenues towards greatness.

Like many members of the elven aristocracy Valeria is not used to a hard life. She enjoys surrounding herself with visible luxury, and enjoys displaying her wealth and power to others. She is politically skilled, and when she desires can be most companionable.

Family Ties
She is a member of the Munii family. The Munii are one of the most prominent families in the Republic, and often hold posts of great power there. Valeria has six older siblings, many of whom have themselves held high office in Evonian. However, due to her seizure of a royal title her family has publicly disowned her, and declared their intent to see her executed should she ever return to the Republic. If this is posituring for public consumption, or indicative of real intent remains to be seen.
Religious Views
Like most elves Valeria is a deist. However, as she rules over a great many humans she often chooses to partake in local religious rites, and sponsores several popular religious cults in her realm.
Wealth & Financial state
Valeria borrowed a great deal of money to fund the expedition which saw her become queen. It is rumored that she is still paying interests on these loans, despite her access to the wealth of Pergina.
