Chiral Valley

”The lush hills and landscape of the valley was simply gorgeous. The waterfalls, the mountains and the greeney, I had never seen anything like these on Terra. It was full of tranquility, peace and calmness, with only the chirping of wild alien birds to be heard"   Soras Valcoran, describing Chiral Valley for the first time after leading an expedition to the equatorial regions of Cadmeia in his journals"
Chiral Valley is a lush, verdant valley located very near the equator of Cadmeia near the Chaironian mountains. Unusual for a planet as cold as Cadmeia , Chiral Valley remains lush and verdant year around, only being covered in small to medium amounts of snow during the coldest parts of winter, due to the fact that this valley lies near the warmer equatorial regions of Cadmeia and is protected from the cold winds of winter by the Chaironian mountains . The valley also serves as one of the biggest agricultural regions of Cadmeia, providing food even in the deepest reaches of winter. For this reason, Chiral Valley has a revered reputation amongst the Cadmeians, for without the nourishment provided by it, they’d have to struggle against the climates of Cadmeia on a far worse level.

Geography

It was just, beautiful. Just looking at the green rolling hills and the lush, verdant valley struck awe inside of me. I had never seen something this beautiful, even on such a jewel of a world as this. To see this much green outside of Terra, it was just mesmerizing”   Soras Valcoran, describing the Valley to his close friends after returning from there to the first colony on Cadmeia near the Isthmus of Sidonia.
Chiral Valley is a lush, verdant paradise on the already beautiful world of Cadmeia. Situated between two lofty mountain ranges, the Valley itself contains a wide variety of flora and fauna from all over Cadmeia. It is also known for its beautiful waterfalls, which offer some of the most spectacular views across the entire planet. In the Central part of Chiral Valley lies a huge lake, which supplies water to the entire valley .

Fauna & Flora

The flora and fauna of Chiral Valley is incredibly diverse, having collections of animals and plants from all over Cadmeia. In the high and lofty cliffs, Cadmeian Gryphon.s make their nest and occasionally come down to the plains to hunt for prey. The dreaded Bloodtusk Forest troll, already part of a mean and incredibly aggressive race, is even more meaner than its northern cousins and is famous for regenerating lost limbs in seconds, provided that they have sufficient nutrients stored up. In the waters of this valley, lurk gigantic serpentine creatures which are found all across Cadmeia, from its volcanic mountains to the eternally frozen polar regions of the planet.   Sometimes, in parts of the valley where the tree cover is quite large and barely any sunlight passes through the canopy of trees, the shrubs and other plants beneath have to adapt to their lack of sunlight and become either carnivorous, or use chemosynthesis combined with the little sunlight they get to make food

Natural Resources

" I heard from the locals that life here is mainly sustained by farming and agriculture, something which the inhabitants here particularly excel at. After visiting some of the geofarms here, i have to agree with them. For all their hard work and toiling in the fields, its us who gets to eat. We really should be more thankful to them"   Attributed to Lorann sanguinus meros
The lush region of Chiral valley, in addition to its diverse flora and fauna, contains a large number of resources, both mineral and biological, for exploitation by the inhabitants. The dwellings for the most part are made of the wood of the Irevian pine tree, which is famous for being almost as strong as the steel forged on Terra.   For sustenance, the valley is ripe with wildlife such as Blood oxen, sheep, avian animals and many more. In the rivers and lakes, there is a diverse variety of aquatic wildlife to be hunted, including fishes, electric eels, arthropods and many other animals. Still, anyone who wishes to go fishing alone should be wary, for there are also many dangerous and agressive creatures that lurk in the depths of these lakes and rivers.   Despite the locals sustaining their livelihoods mostly on farming and agriculture in Chiral valley, there does exist a large mining effort, like almost all the other regions of the planet. The mining industry in these parts however, takes great care not to destroy the greenery of this region and when it does start mining , they take great care as to not harm the natural beauty of this region and preserve its pristinity

Life in Chiral Valley

Life in Chiral Valley is usually far more calm than the Northern areas, owing to it being located in the heavily guarded equatorial regions. The inhabitants of this valley are generally happy and live calmly , nestled amongst the pure breathtaking beauty of nature.   The inhabitants still need to be wary of some of the dangerous animals that live here however, such as the bloodtusk forest troll which can attack violently if even slightly provoked and are highly territorial. If any such events tend to happen, the inhabitants usually run away from the troll or bait it to a place and then either trap or kill it .

I like it! It is simple, elegant, and the style you use seems very professional while still reflecting your passion for it as if it was based off a real life experience!

Thank you so much for the nice comment Col! And yes! This article was inspired by the region I live in, which is also a lush and fertile mountain valley! I got the inspiration of it whilst going for a walk outside so that explains it XD. I’m glad that you’ve loved it though! Again thank you for the kind comment!

You paint a lovely picture of the valley! The quotes along the qay break up the text nicely and add some flavor to it.   I'd like to hear more about the inhabitants and the resources they use! You say the inhabitants are happy but there seem to be some pretty frightening monsters here to overcome!   How does this place stay so warm if the rest of the planet is so cold? Is there something unique that keeps this area particularly temperate? You mention the equator, but say it's warm compared to everywhere else, so I'm curious what the story is there.   I feel like the video could go in the sidebar to even things out a bit, but that's just me being a formatting stickler!

Sounds like a place I'd want to live! Lovely description, though it gets a little repetitive sometimes, saying "lush and verdant" multiple times. Maybe try to mix up the language a little more.   I also love that you provided your own sound track to go along with the article!   Question: how do they go about harvesting from the valley without ruining the natural habitat? Do too many people sometimes try to harvest from it at once? How are such problems prevented?

I adore the style you wrote this in! It's giving us information while being presented in a storytelling format and honestly I'm envious, as that's what I aim to do! The one thing I would say to watch out for is to be careful with repeating words, I do that, I noticed it a few times in here, but it's overall a small detail in comparison to the rest of the article. Good job!

I can smell your location and it smells so good.   I was wondering however, what food it provides? Are fruits, roots or even vegetables harvested there or beasts hunted for their meat?

Very interesting article! I'm curious, though does this area being so fertile have any negative effects? For example, do trees just keep growing until they're cut down or fall because of other means? What happens to shrubs and other plants that stay close to the ground when the trees create a canopy that prevents them from getting sunlight?

You made a very good job of using the illustrations and your own writing to create a vivid image of the Chiral Valley. I think it's a place I'd love to visit, even despite the troll! The Gryphons would make up for that ;)   The only suggestion I have is perhaps finding a... calmer music for the start of the article, something more peaceful and soothing? I think the end of the piece is perfect for the environment you're describing, but the rest sounds more like epic battle soundtrack. But that's just a small detail! Congrats on the article!

Good read. My only complaint is rather silly. The song you chose for the top was rather...heart pumping and the first full paragraph mentions the place is pretty calm. ^_^ Well written, usually not a fan of dark backgrounds on my old eyes but you blended it really well.

All around good stuff, I'm curious how the more dangerous creatures are dealt with. As well the acrhitecture of the people living in the forests, seems like it would be difficult to live here without a little deforestation.

What a lovely place! I enjoyed reading this article. I also want to hear more about the Bloodtusk Forest Troll, though I imagine that will take another article to itself.
