Vorbile, the Desecrator

"Hidden amongst those outer fields, there's one of Malus' top associates. Vorbile. A poisoner, he has laid waste to many of the towns already, and we believe his next course of action is us. He's not too far from here, too. At any point he can arrive, and snuff out anybody in the streets in an instant. He's a threat, and we need him dead,"
- Thaquorous Alexo
Voraticulmyrbiletolr is a dragon, commonly known as just Vorbile, who lives within the northern reaches of the Thevagon Isles. He acts as a scout for Malus, the Charred Colossus. He made the landscape of a once fruitful island into his own personal hellscape, coated with toxins. With poisonous breath, Vorbile can kill a man in less than a minute with his toxins. His body is covered in scars, from previous champions, including former Decadions of The Adadis Courthall . His scars range from the severed tip of his tail, and the stab wounds across his wings. Most of these scars are only diminishing on his appearance, except the damage bestowed upon his wings have made him unable to properly fly. This has left him envious of practically any dragon that is able to go to the Ancient City. If any lesser dragon in the hierarchy established by Malus comes near his domain, then they are most likely to be devoured.
Vorbile does not take easy to other Wyrms in his domain. His domain, ultimately, is just ruins, alas. Vorbile does hold a handful of servants, which he allows onto his land in return for servitude. These servants are unwilling however. This is because the green dragon does not know of a magical artifact he had once eaten, which gave it's user the ability of mind control. It is lodged in his stomach, and has few charges left. If Vorbile is killed, it'd glow from inside of him, waiting for a new owner. Their main objective in their enthralled lifestyle is to provide food for their draconic master, in return for being able to live. Within his personal lair, Vorbile surrounds himself with pillars of stone from an old temple. The building was flattened to form his nest, which holds robes and soft materials he's pried off of his victims.
Vorbile's servants have been aiding him in developing a potential fix of his inability to fly properly. This'd be through harvesting the wings of a dragon larger than him, ideally one being Sistrola Thasnavi. This is due to her being the only dragon of the Thevagon Isles that has outmatched Malus in speed and agility. His scheming is unknown to Malus, he only sees Vorbile as a mere pawn, not as a potential enemy. Regardless, if Vorbile would ever directly attack the Charred Colossus, he'd most likely be met with death.

Horde

Vorbile's hoard is a collection of items stolen from his island. Overall, he has amassed a total of approximately 5,000 Gold Pieces. However, his most prized possessions are of the art and craftmanship of the old societies that used to live on the island. This is especially true to his selection of totems spread across the pathway to his nest. His gold and gemstones lay in the cave behind his resting place, whereas his artistic collections are littered around the lair. Buried in the sand next to the miniature waterfall is the Magician's Judge. When a spellcaster was able to counteract Vorbile's enchantments, they'd be slain shortly afterwards by the sword.

The Magician's Judge

Weapon (Greatsword), Rare (Requires Attunement)
If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can choose to cast the dispel magic spell against the target at part of the attack. Alternatively, you can use your action to cast the Dispel Magic spell at a target of your choice. The spell is cast at 3rd level, and the Ability check bonus for this spell is +3.

The stone regains 1d6 expended charges daily at dawn.

Gravitational Thrust. As an action, you can expend 1 charge to focus gravity around a creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 20 feet in a direction of your choice.
Reverse Gravity. As an action, you can expend 3 charges to cast Reverse Gravity from the stone (save DC 18).

Vorbile's Island Effects

  • Within 1 mile of its lair, the dragon leaves no physical evidence of its passage unless it wishes to. Tracking it there is impossible except by magical means. In addition, it ignores movement impediments and damage from plants in this area that are neither magical nor creatures, including the thickets described above. The plants remove themselves from the dragon’s path.
  • Rodents and birds within 1 mile of the dragon’s lair serve as the dragon’s eyes and ears. Deer and other large game are strangely absent, hinting at the presence of an unnaturally hungry predator.
  • If the dragon dies, the rodents and birds lose their supernatural link to it. The thickets remain, but within 1d10 days, they become mundane plants and normal difficult terrain, losing their thorns.

Servants

All of Vorbile's servants do not serve him through their own volition. They are controlled by the magical artefact lodged in the dragon's body. Except, Vorbile does not know of this item himself. He is on the fence between believing that they serve him with free will, or that he, biologically, can mind control them. His enchantment only has four charges per day, three of which are used on his three servants.

Kreg Hukani

A blood-priest from the old temple that Vorbile had flattened. Kreg worshipped the Blood Gods of ancient times, having been revelled for his hedonistic forms of worship, involving the use of his self-forged weapons on the likes of livestock and criminals. Whilst his methods were less than spectacle, Kreg did have a care for those who he deemed as innocents. These were mostly children, one's risen by an orphanage as they did not find his appearance threatening. Due to his worship, nearly half of his face has been stripped of his flesh. Alas, his devotion has made it so that the pain has subsided. He no longer feels anything on that side of his body. This is both a blessing and a curse. It's a weakness of his, especially to those who can land blows without being seen. Kreg was an orphan himself, and was taken in by the old holy buildings due to his bizarre interest in worship. As his weapons of choice, he uses ritualistic blades that have been adapted onto chains, that way he can keep his distance from his opponents due to his glaring weakness of his left side.

Sir Arondel of the Old Lands

Arondel was a noble on the island before his corruption by Vorbile. He was charitable, and charming. Often spending his money on rising the slums up to make sure all would live well. Despite this, once Vorbile had attacked, his persona of kindness disappeared. Before nobility, Arondel was a duellist for a kingdom in the northern reaches of Maisin Maw. He was a dirty fighter, often mixing natural variables into his combat, such as high winds. His most known cheap trick was keeping a handful of sand on his person at all time. Arondel, after the loss of the Maisin Maw, would journey southbound, ideally to go to the Adilla Nation. There, he thought, he'd be accepted for the curse of his mask and his esteemed nobility. On his travels, he found himself within the Thevagon Isles. Here he met his future husband, to which he settled down, and lost his once cheap ways, wishing to instead be a good, kind-hearted man. Once he passed, he stuck around to make sure that his home would be transformed into a wondrous sanctuary for those fleeing other lands. Unluckily, it became a sanctuary for Vorbile too. He transformed the grand designs of the settlement and turned it into a series of ruins to be his lair. Invoking despair, Vorbile made Arondel a servant, giving him one permanent task, to never remove his mask. His mask was an heirloom from his ancestors, made to bridge the gap between the plane of the Abyss and Abholos, which gave the user of it metallic variations to typical tiefling horns, as well as a barbed tail.

Lyra, Lurker of the Lakes

Lyra was one of the only ones to escape Vorbile's domain, at first. An insectoid, cursed with the mind and appearance of a humanoid. She was an outcast, from both the societies of the island and the ones below it. This ended up with Lyra having to stay within the caves beside a lake, far from where Vorbile would keep his lair. Lyra grew up alone, hunting for food by herself, making good use of any scraps of materials she could get her hands on. Her life would only turn better upon forging a friendship with the cursed sea elf known as Samantha, nicknamed Seamantha. Lyra and Seamantha would be inseparable. The two were both outcasts, forced into living a solitary life constantly threatened by the nearby dragon. Lyra was taught how to fight, how to use swords, how to properly swim, and anything else that had shaped her into what she would become today. It was only when Vorbile had destroyed their home had Lyra finally decided to stand up for herself. In a fight with the dragon, Lyra had lost both of her arms were sliced off by Vorbile's barbed tail, and was left wounded on the sanded beaches of the coast. Her friend would be enraged, and try to kill him but would be killed instead, her body thrown into the ocean, drifting off. Lyra, now alone, would be controlled by Vorbile, who would have both Kreg and Arondel forge her new arms. Lyra, now, is the most deadly of the three servants, and the most hesitant. Her bug-like mindset has made the dragon's enthrallment difficult, which has resulted in Lyra serving from a distance. She still lives in the ruins of the cave that her close friend lived with her in. One day, she hopes to be free, away from Vorbile, and out in the oceans, just how she wished to live her life, forever and always, with Samantha.
