Paul Levi

Paul Levi is a communist politician within The German Soviet Republic. Paul served as it's leader up until January, where he was replaced with Heinrich Brandler, for being to leanant with perceived enemies of the revolution.

Early Life and Revolutionary Career:

Paul Levi was born, on 11 March 1883 in Hechingen in Hohenzollern Province, to a Jewish family. Paul became a lawyer in Frankfurt and a member of the SPD in 1906. He worked closely with Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, and by 1913 Paul was Luxemburg's personal lawyer.

During the war, he was conscripted, but after he protested by starving himself, was discharged on ground's of medical issues. During the 1919, Paul helped the fail separatist uprising and through a series of unfortunate deaths he became the leader of The Communist Party Of Germany by March of that year.

Leader of The GSR and Resignation:

Paul was imprisoned during the Kapp Putsch, but was freed during the chaos as the restored The German Empire was crushing both Weimar and Communist influence in West Germany. He meet up with Heinrich Brandler's who were massing in Saxony and on May 10, they took Berlin, causing the new Government to flee to Frankfurt.

Paul, along with an alliance of with the USPD, proclaimed The German Soviet Republic and secured all the rest of East Germany.

The Civil War, had began between The German Empire led by Wolfgang Kapp under The German National People's Party and The German Soviet Republicled by Paul Levi under The Communist Party Of Germany.

Paul, during his leadership, pardoned many former SPD members, something that enraged hardliners like Heinrich Brandler who wished to be more cautious in the KPDs dealings with other parties.

Eventually, Heinrich Brandler we're able to pressure Paul to resign after increasing pressure from Moscow, in 1921. After this, he was expelled and barred from running for political office, with other supporters purged.

There are only a few left within the party that support his vision of a more tolerate KPD, but is it too late?
