The Communist Party Of Germany
The Communist Party of Germany is the current ruling party of The German Soviet Republic.
History:
The Communist Party of Germany was founded during the separatist failed uprising. By March 1919 it was led by Paul Levi who led the party away from revolution. However, communist successes in the Soviet-Polish War did not stop other KPD faction's like Heinrich Brandler's hardliners, from further destabilizing the Weimar Regime. Heinrich lead and called for strikes, aiding their paramilitary the Proletarian Hundreds as split merged between the more revolutionary Heinrich and moderate Paul.
During the successful Kapp Pustch, Heinrich Brandler and the Party helped organize an uprising Chemnitz from there gaining more forces and seizing the province of Saxony, declaring, "The Saxony Soviet State". After Paul Levi was freed, he took leadership, allying with the SPD and USPD. Something that, upset Heinrich who wanted to be more cautious and preferred not to ally to the USPD.
By May 10, 1920, communist forces took Berlin and The German Soviet Republic was proclaimed, setting up a socialist coalition government with USPD.
A civil war began between restored The German Empire in the west, and new The German Soviet Republic in the east.
Paul Levi, encouraged the reforming of the SPD under Hermann Müller in the east, since it was currently banned in the West since The German Empire was under martial law. The move further worsening infighting between hardliners and himself.
Eventually by 1921, at the height of the Civil War, the pressures were becoming too great and Paul Levi resigned. Heinrich Brandler's hardline faction with backing from Moscow took control. Heinrich as party leader purged many securing his position over the KPD and even went after the SPD.
Slowly the KPD is continuing to sideline the USPD, further purging 'moderates', leaving their influence weakened as The German Soviet Republic becomes more like its communist, authoritarian allies.
