Old Empire Legends

A group of friends who were famed at the height of their varied careers before the year 1231, during the reign of Emperor Longwei. Most of them suffered greatly after The Ascension of Emperor Zou, but the group came together to form the rebellion during the War of Eternal Day. The Old Empire Legends include:

Gao Zhong Hu, also known as the Tiger. Famed for his discipline, swordsmanship, and his many perilous adventures with Zhang Xiong. His family pushed for his appointment to the Imperial Guard to limit the chances of said adventures continuing indefinitely.

Zhang Xiong, also known as the Bear. Xiong was famous for his powerful cultivation and martial prowess, his reckless bravery, and loyalty to his sect. He offended many people, but pleased Emperor Longwei and other powerful friends.

Zhang Yin Da, from the Meng family. Yin Da was never as famous as her sister, but she rivaled Qi Lianhua in intelligence and lived a more active life of travel and adventure. She quietly achieved immortality in the years before the Ascension, but kept the fact a secret.

Wei Ang Jian, also known as the Great Tactician. Ang Jian first received acclaim for his scores on the military examination, but then went on to earn third rank in the country on the Imperial Examination, a much greater accomplishment. He soon proved his ability to apply his knowledge in the field and carried high responsibility in the military for most of his career.

Ruya Ilkin, a well-known Minggan-u Noyan, or leader of 1,000 troops in the Garalese military - the second-highest rank typically employed during peacetime. Ruya was famed for her ingenuity and military prowess, particularly as a heavy cavalry rider. Despite being relatively lowborn, she rose quickly in the ranks, selected by her loyal troops.
