Strike for Independence

The peoples of the Northeastern Adirondack Dwellers being forced to live in the village Oven Lake by the Five Ponds Nation had enough. During the Second Adirondack War they began a strike that would outlast the conflict itself. The Five Ponds Nation was unwilling to just let them go or give them independence within their own territorries.   The Archdruid herself intervened when she heard of the plight of these people. She engaged the support of the West Canada Nation and started negotations with the Five Ponds Nation.   She went with her team to Oven village and started a dialog with the Jogah there. At first they did not trust her, but after a few days they began to talk to her and tell her their story. Very heartbreaking stuff. She organized food deliviries and was able to convince the Jogah to stop their hunger strike.   The Jogah wanted to return to their ancentral homes, but the Five Ponds Nation was not willing to budge. The Archdruid suggested that they should move somewhere else and start a new community as members of the Alliance. At first they were unwilling, but then the West Canada Nation was willing to give them a large plot of land within their territory with full autonomy and no taxation guaranteed. Some wanted to stay, but the situation in the village became untenable after almost two months of strike. They relied purely on the aid the alliance and the New York Government was delivering.   Eventually a majority wanted to move and the rest was forced to follow. They established the village Thohtatyu which stands for Home in their language.   They got various guarantees from the Alliance, the Archdruid, the NY Gov and the West Canada Nation to ensure their independence. They are almost fully autark now.   They joined the Alliance as full members and became the smallest faction fully represented within the alliance.
