Ostrich Fern

A strike organizer who kicked off the Strike for Independence. They are honored on the Strike for Independence Memorial.   They started the strike by just sitting down. They were punished and beaten up by some guards, and carried away. A few days later they were returned to their work station, but simply sat down again. This was repeated four more times. On fifth time others joined in and made this big. Word got around an all of the works stations started to strike that day.   On the tenth day of the strike Ostrich Fern was beaten to death by the guards and their body was hanged up in a prominent location as a warning. This however lead to a full on revolt that lead to the death of multiple guards and almost fifty Jogah and many more casualities.   These events were recorded and broadcasted to the world. Which is what brought Jemma Galloway to the scene.     Ostrich Fern was an outsider within the community. They were always quite and kept to themselves. Their parents were killed before they were forcibily moved to the Oven village.   One day they had enough and could not longer bear all this suffering.   Today they are venerated by all the members of the community and remembered as the hero who brough them freedom. They are seen as a martyr that died for them and they are honored every year. Children learn of their life and their actions across the Adirondack Mountains.
