Sovereign House
The Sovereign House is the ruling family of Phenada, with their seat in the central province of Phenon.
Structure
The current Sovereign Lady of Phenon is Ravan Laurinya Phenon, inheritor of the empire from her father who was the previous Sovereign Lord; Ensys Hwestven Phenon stepped down in 240 EU and died in 312 EU. It is believed that Ravan Laurinya was selected from her siblings to inherit due to her assistance in overthrowing Venzumin.
Other living members of the family include Beiris Tasarolwen Phenon, the second-eldest sibling and royal mage of divination, and Vanelina Yavië Phenon, the youngest daughter.
Culture
Inheritance is determined by merit within the royal lineage, not on order of birth. Children of the Sovereign compete for favor until rulers step down in their later years and appoint their successor. This tradition has been carried over from when Phenda was a state in Venzumin.

The Sovereign Lady places importance on diplomacy and expansion, with power obtained by encouraging military and arcane growth.
