Episode 9: Stink, Stank, Stunk

by Sir Jackyr Abbot

We begin in the forest with Stink and his zombified brothers. Stink has a dagger that he recently looted from the previous fight. He's about a foot away from his zombified brothers. He doesn't really understand but he is starting to come to terms with it. He's tightly gripping the dagger and just looking at them. The brothers are lurching forward at Stink.

Ibrick is trying to offer another solution. (stink is canonically shorter than his goblin brothers.) Ibrick kneels down with Stink and helps him point a massive shield towards the brothers. Ibrick casts destroy undead. Rain starts to come down and there's a big boom of thunder that even charle can hear with the carts on the road. Stink doesn't uphold his promise and decides to peek at what's happening. Stink starts to shed tears. A bluish glow starts to disintegrate the zombies. The zombies continue to lurch forward until they are completely gone. The ashes of the zombies blow off into the forest. As soon as it's over, the weather starts to dissipate. The abominations are gone. "you did it buddy. It's done" says Ibrick.

As charle is hanging out with the horses they start to get nervous. Charle hears a distant crack and a quick shift in the trees. Charle uses his primevil awareness to check out the forest. There is a very heavy presence of undead in the area. There is an eerie silence that falls in the area. His focus is interrupted by another twig snap. There is a figure that seems to have dropped out of the wood line across the road from him. He readies his bow. It's a humanoid figure with orcish or half orcish features. "I knew that was your scent" it's the half orc woman from Wakefield. Korra is there too. In total there are 6 people. After a short fight charle goes down as he is not rested from the previous fight. Charle no longer has pain as everything fades to black. His thoughts clear out as he questions if this is what death is. He sees large figure walking towards him that loom over him. They have a beastial companion. The people look like orcs but aren't. They have leathers of different shapes and sizes thrown over their shoulders with big hunting boots and hunting gear. The beast is a symbol of obedience and companionship. The figures head has large antlers that sprout from it's head. Voicelessy it gestures out to Charle. It says into his mind "are you actually vain? Your skills are precise and you're trained well, so what makes you arrogant?" the response is "I was just buying time." Char;e gets a sense of comfort like he does in the forest. His senses understand that the figure is acknowledging him. Charle think he knows what the figure is. His pack has a deep and profound respect for Oxstar. This is a depiction of them to some extent. The figure says "what's your goal? The path of vengeance is well below your purpose. even your personal goals are just a small percentage of what you can be capable of." Charle gets the sense that this figure can see his entire life. "There is an inept power within you that most lack. That power can only be accessed if you cast asside vengeance, arrogance, and any ill will towards companions. Don't be afraid to get help from people. Don't be afraid to form bonds. You should know the strength of a pack. The most enjoyable hunts are those that are planned out. There is no room for irrational thought when you are in a hunt. Vain ideals of you being better than your prey will lead to your certain demise. Remember to keep your goals at the fore front which you will succeed. Your purpose has potential to be bigger than your personal goals." The beastial companion begins to walk away from you. The figure touches Charle's shoulder. Charles head is racked with pain. He is laying on his back and there is still multiple figures around him. He jolts up grasping for a weapon in a panick. "whoah whoah whoah whoah. Just relax." It's the paladin Ezra. He has his saints with him. There is rejuvinating energy being pushed into him.

Ezra asks who did this. Charle info dumps what happened. (Not the blackout part). Ezra calls Gimall to give charle a greater healing potion. They put a hand on charles shoulder and heals him. Ezra and his team mounts back up and tells Charle to get back into his cart and get back into the city.

Back at the camp, STink has ventured into his tent and comes back out holding up a broken crate. It's like a tray that you put your keys in. It's filled with stuff. He says "We didn't have much but you all deserve this. Thanks for getting here and make sure you share it with Charle too." Its just a random assortment of stuff. He grabs his personal effects. We recieve 3 gold teeth. A broken pepper mill. A bent silver spoon. Broken clock. Skull of a small beast. A shoe lace. A ripe sandal. 3 mundain but pretty rocks. 3 copper 8 silver and 2 gold pieces. A chicken talon.

We find out that Stink has helped raid a town before but didn't like it. He also suggests eating babies face first so they don't scream as much.

As we travel along, we are almost out of the forest to the hilly terrain. The forest is kind of patchy in this area. We are roughly half way through our travel. Ibrick notices what looks like small beasts about 40 feet ahead of us. It's 2 bear cubs jotting slowly across the road way. No mama bear around. Ibrick just keeps moving on. He tosses a ration off to the side and spooks the cub. They both run off into the woods.

We make it back to town at nightfall. Ibrick notices a gentleman with shoulder length hair parted in the middle and tucked behind the ears. He has leathers on and don't look like a worker. They were standing up with some other people. He calls out to us. He knows we took the cart form the people that tried to rob us on the highway. He says that Andrin will remember this.

We park the horses and carts. Pay for 1 night for the cart. We take everything off the cart except the clothes and personal effects.

We go to the harpy's bottle and it's crowded. There's a crowd of people rolling dice. We take a seat. Jackyr looks at the bottle of wine. It's written in elvish but I don't recognize it. It's Shawns Sugar Wine. We find a long table in the corner. 3/4s of it is full. In the corner there's a few dinky chairs.

Ibrick decides to try and clear a table by sitting down and talking about religion. A bearded guy named Phil thinks Ibrick is trying to fight him. Charle sits Stink down and tells him to talk about all the things he killed.

Charle clears the table and Midna sits down.Dadey is the leader of charles tribe.

We talk about the things going on. Jackyr gets drunk and decides to hop on the table and play a song before heading to bed. Jackyr crashes on the floor in a drunken stuper and sleeps there.

Jackyr gets up early and goes to hot tossed buns to get everyone breakfast. Ibrick info dumps all of the things the Grand Arena does. There is no death. Games are picked randomly. There's things like capture the flag, king of the hill, and balancing beams.

We head to the stables. There's a sleeping guard inside the gate. We get to the stable. There's no one there. No bell to get their attention. The door to the stables in the back is a little ajar. Jackyr hops back there to take a look. There's no animals out in the open. All of the gates are closed. There's no people but a couple of horses. Looking in all the stables, the horses that are there none of the horses look like ours.

Epiphany changes form to the stable hand from last night. She does not let Jackyr come with. Epiphany looks around and doesn't see our horses at all. She doesn't see anyone. She gets to the last one and as she opens the last door there's alot of blood. She sees our cart. the single cart is missing along with the horse. our cart and 2 horses are there. Both of their throats have been slashed and are dead on the ground. 2 bodies are on the floor as well. Sat up on the left side is the stable hand and the stable master.

As we are talking about it Ibrick sees that there is a bloody note carved into our cart.

"Silence is an incredible source of strength."
