Gino gestured towards the east, beyond plains and mountains.
"Bastards tied me to a pole and left me as bait for [url=https://www.worldanvil.com/w/mnica-happy4488/a/lorianortis-article]Lorianortis[/url]. Yes, they left a [url=https://www.worldanvil.com/w/mnica-happy4488/a/the-fireguard-article]Fireguard[/url] to die by Loris. Maybe they thought it was ironic, fitting, funny. Hah! But old Gino got the last laugh!"
He grinned and swigged from his flask, then grabbed his spear and gave it a twirl.
[b]"[/b]I managed to climb backwards up the pole and over. I used my bindings and the crossbeam of the pole and a dagger to make a spear, and with that alone killed the lorianortis when it arrived. I snuck out, buck naked, tracked the bandits back to their lair and marked the location on my map.
There were too many for me to take on my own, so I waited for one to go on patrol and, when he got off to piss, knocked him out with the spear. I stole his [url=https://www.worldanvil.com/w/mnica-happy4488/a/dlintiarnas-article]dlintiarna[/url] and rode into the mountains.
What? Did I ride home? No. Have you [b]met[/b] me? I went in search of a loris. Searched around for about two days to find the biggest bastard I could. And hoooo did I find her. [b]Beautiful.[/b] Easily 13 meters tall, tappers to stabber. I threw rocks at heer and rode for my life in the night, baiting him for hours, nearly exhausting my poor dlintiarna to death. I finally got the thing close enough to the stronghold the bandits had set up in for it to take more interest in them than me.
I think most of them got away. Which is fine. But nobody stays in that old stronghold anymore, and tales tell of a monstrous mother Loris who has made it her home.[b]"[/b]
Gino sat for a moment of thoughtful silence. "I'll go back for her someday. Put a [b]real[/b] trophy on my wall. Anyway, that's where I got my spear. Thing saved my life a hundred times over out there, so as soon as I got home I had the dagger melted and turned into a head, and had the shaft trimmed and shaped. It's a beauty. They used some real good wood for it and that dagger was somethin' pretty."

The Bandits Of Fargon I
Written at the dawn of the 15th day of the 9th month, 250
Allow me to catch you up on my journey, reader.
On this most beautiful day, the 15th of the 9th month, I am setting off with a Morknar and a Human to the town of Fargon. It's a mining village in the Sun Mountains, and a band of raiders came through, scared everyone, broke the mining gear... and so on. I didn't entirely pay attention—the Morknar did, and they don't forget anything.
Fedaggio Glen Fiagris, speaking on behalf of Gati Glen Vertos (the Vertos are a noble family, for those keeping track) informed us that they need us to go to Fargon, oversee the unblocking of the mines, fix the equipment, and recon the position of the raiders... maybe knock some heads if needed.
Payment: We get to keep the dlintiarnas we've been given for the job, we get paid, and there's eyes on us in case we do a particularly good job.
Longshort—I get to be a hero.
Oh and the human and morknar as well, I suppose.
