Session 35: Searching For the Damariens
General Summary
While waiting for Meloranath's shift to end, the party talked more with Maskir and Edrin. Rome checked the note Edrin had brought from Thefir and Morran's, and saw that the handwriting was definitely not Balo Blackiron's. Edrin thought his parents and Erris might not have come through Eleth Telnara because if they came, they would've tried to contact him. Maskir tried to contact Saurivess to have her divine where the rest of the Damariens were, but she didn't respond. The party figured they'd go to Dun Girimbor, as Rome knew that Balo Blackiron had an apartment there. Talking later with Meloranath, she suggested it would be best to figure out where the Damariens were before heading potentially in the wrong direction. Hearing that Saurivess wasn't answering, she arranged for a Vigilance contact in Saurivess' home of New Throden to check on her, finding later that she hadn't returned home after the Delirium Travelling Troupe had ended their latest tour. Maskir suggested the party could seek out Korthis for his divining services; the middle-aged elven wizard resided in town near the Moon Tree. Meloranath didn't know of any connection between the Yuan-Ti and the Lord of Storms, and didn't know much about the Lord of Storms at all; Vigilance scouts in the Moonguard were reporting goings-on from the forward camp but so far, there were just minor skirmishes. The next morning, the party sought out Korthis, paying to scry on Morran. Some form of magic blocked the scrying from being more accurate, but Korthis located her around two days southwest of Eleth Telnara. Tana Manyhands, the Delirium's juggler, met the group and Maskir, showing that she'd received a similar note, calling on her aid in Eld Tereth. It was supposedly written by Thefir and Morran, though in the same handwriting as the note Edrin had. Maskir lent the party one of the troupe's wagons, and Eirame disguised herself to look like Tana, driving one of the wagons as the party headed to Eld Tereth. Maskir promised to organize the troupe's more combat-ready members and follow in a day or two. An hour outside Eld Tereth, the party was ambushed by four centaurs and three trolls. After a long fight, the party defeated the enemies, leaving one of the centaurs alive but unconscious for further questioning.
