Eleth Telnara
Eleth Telnara, in the Forest of Telnara, is the capital of the Regency of Telnara, located a short distance up the Duskwend River from Lake Ardeth.
During The Assault and The Absence, a slow trickle of dwarven, human, and sun elf refugees entered the forest. Their influence led the previously-nomadic Telnari to construct Eleth Telnara. The city is constructed from a mix of the large trees themselves and pale white stone quarried from the foothills of the Verthik Mountains. Buildings are lithe and curved, and most have no floor, save the forest undergrowth, and glass roofs to allow the sunlight and moonlight to trickle in. Windows are uncovered, allowing the breeze to come through.
The town is constructed around the trees. Roadways twist and turn to avoid roots and trunks, giving the town a very winding, impractical feel, but it is a place of beauty and elegance.
The core of the city is the Moontree, the largest, oldest, tree in the forest. Hollowed out inside, it provides a home to the Regent's family on the upper floors and council chambers and an audience hall on the lower floors. The leaves of the tree, which stay fresh throughout the year, amplify the moonlight; on a clear evening, the tree provides light to a significant portion of the city.
The Silvershore is the city's docks and trade district. A tall wooden bridge spans the river, leaving room for small boats to pass underneath, and connecting the city to the north-south road through the forest. Southwest of the docks, the Woodcarver's Workshops is a district where the city's skilled artisans create items, from wooden cutlery to shields to furniture and ornate, decorative, pieces.
Outside the official city limits to the west, druids gather periodically in the Emerald Glade, a natural clearing in the trees enchanted to prevent non-druids from finding it.
