Temshai
The world of Temshai is teeming with life and energy. It is a young world, still with significant tracts of unexplored land.
Since the year of The Ascension (0 YA), most of the populace has worshiped The Six Eternals, Temshai's pantheon of hero-gods who rid Myas'tara from oppression at the hands of the lizardfolk, cast down The Mother, the creator-protector deity who had long abandoned Temshai, and took her place.
Now, over two millennia later, the populace is going through a period of awakening. Magic, formerly thought to be the domain of deities and a highly-talented few, is attainable in basic ways by most. Simple uses of magic, like lighting, transportation, communication, and menial chores, have found wide use. Travel by airship is as common as by boat.
As magic becomes prevalent, worship of The Six is waning. How will The Six respond as they see their followers, their source of divine power, turning away? Will the nations of Temshai remain stable throughout the changes? Will there be a power struggle, and who or what will come out on top to shape the future of Temshai?
Myas'tara is the largest, central, continent, full of mountains, plains, and a jungle with a dormant volcano at its core. The Six are venerated most in Eleth Lilanor, a city on the southern coast of in the Nythenor Plains, where The Hexalian Order promotes belief in their gods. Frigid and distant, Ormr is to the north, the home of the kobolds and the secretive dragonborn. The rocks and sands of Rasharan lie to the east, joined to Myas'tara by a narrow bridge of rock high above the water.
Xirubo lies to the southwest. Largely unexplored rainforest, its northern shores are known as the Contraband Coast, a haven for three fleets of pirates. The small continent of Beacon, whose entire landmass is a massive city containing nearly half the population of Temshai, is the biggest voice of opposition to organized religion. Many inventions have come from the gnomes on Ziltare, living in the city of Coppercog, built around a mountain and suspended over fae-tinged forests. The Atheneum roams through the sky, a magical city with a huge library run by The Collectors, who try to amass all knowledge.
