I'm getting upwards of ten, fifteen notifications for community posts every day. Unfortunately I end up deleting the majority of these notifications, simply because I'm not willing to click on every single one to find out what the post is even about, to then figure out if it's something I'm interested in/want to read.
Also, I've noticed a significant decline in interactions with my own journal posts since the introduction of the new community modal, and I believe this is an important factor.
For those unaware, new notifications read:
Old notifications and old journal posts used to include the title, which was always so helpful when deciding whether or not I want to read a journal post.
Having a title when writing a journal post will make notifications clearer. I really can't see any downside to re-introducing titles in journal posts, they don't take anything away from the feature, while the lack of a title does.
None that come to mind. I literally just want to be able to see what a journal post is about, from the notifications modal, and maybe see improved community engagement :)
Reintroducing titles would be great! I usually don’t mind clicking to see what the post is about but sometimes it can be a bit annoying not knowing if it interests me
the whole community tab is trying to be more dynamic and sleek or whatever but it seems to mainly be making things more inaccessible and difficult. as a person with 7,000+ notifications, it is becoming more difficult for me to even try catching up. I used to like to open notifications in new tabs, but now that it's stuck in the module, it makes everything scrunched in and easier to accidentally click things I probably shouldn't click. I also noticed the thing with the titles. Titles seem fairly useless now, whcih is very disappointing. Thank you for suggesting this. God bless and I hope that enough community feedback is garnered to help the beautiful beans at WorldAnvil see and change. <3
Yes, I agree! Having a title ( if there ) would help engagement quite a lot.
Titles, yes please! The identical messages of "USER has just posted a new community update" filling my notifications doesn't inspire me to click too many, myself. I get a touch overwhelmed and put off reading them. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Is that a feature or a bug? Is including a title a secret drain on resources they didn't deign to tell us about the last time? Here I was wondering why am I not seeing titles even though it has the option to add it and you can see it in your personal profile page? Sometimes if something isn't broke don't fix it and sometimes the "fix" just breaks what was good. Points for updoot and because its a slow month atm. Here's hoping someone doesn't whine about "your tone isn't nice" or some bs....
I'm totally with mochi on this! No title means the post can't spark my interrest!
I completely agree! I loved knowing what the journal post I was about to read would be about so I knew which one would interest me or not! I thought I was the only person with this issue at first!
I too have been notice the same drop in interaction, while I only get a few notifications a day, I'd like to be able to see what I'm clicking on before doing so.
WA always gives such great advice about pulling people in, about making compelling titles or using calls of action. You added that great box to push with article notifications to help draw people in, too. Community posts, by comparison, feel like they've gone backwards. There's no way to use them to pull followers in via notifications anymore, which stands in huge contrast to all the effort WA has put into helping us do just that with almost everything else. This is a solid suggestion, and I'd love to see titles reintroduced.
