Item Bank inventory rpg art arpg game system management feature
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
How does this feature request address the current situation?
What are other uses for this feature request?
This feature request is likely very different from what you usually get.
I am using World Anvil to host all the world information for an Art Roleplay Game (ARPG) I am creating. Which is a little different than other RPG games in that players interact with the world by drawing pictures or writing stories.
If I had to ability to host player inventories/banks that could be searchable by name that would be an amazing addition to World Anvil.
To tie in with this it may need a sort of "item" system added. Each item could be kind of like an article page with an image and a description. In each player's bank/inventory though an admin could add items to the banks, and for the players it would showcase how many of each item they had.
Now I know this could manually be done by just using generic article pages, but a dedicated banking system would be amazing.
This could also be used for other types of RPGs as well, like Pathfinder, D&D, etc. The DM could help players keep track of their items this way.
The Team's Response
[PARTLY ACCEPTED] [MAYBE]
So ... I am a bit dumbfounded by this suggestion for 2 reasons.
There is already an Equipment management system for BOTH a character AND a party's shared resources.
There is already an announcement for the upcoming Hercules release in regards to the upgrade to this system.
I am not sure what to answer apart from:
It's largely already here in the Campaign Management system
in terms of information for each item ... we already have Statblocks
It's getting an upgrade that will also add Shops for players to buy stuff from
Many of the suggestions of the OP show lack of understanding of how WA works, which is perfectly ok but many of the things suggested are very clearly available
THere won't be an ART RPG specific implementation.
This will stay accepted for the next 5 days
If you can clarify what you mean or elaborate PLEASE come and talk to me on #developement-discussion. If I do not get any responses within the given time this will be closed.
