Carpe Donut (Car-pay Dough-nut)

Sensory & Appearance

The scent of freshly baked bread and rolls wafts from the door and windows of the quaint cottage style building. The front door is often propped open to allow the inside to not overheat and to pull customers in with a delicious scent. The two four-paned windows let in the early morning light, the sills holding up small flowerbeds with various colors of carnations.

Once inside, there are a trio of racks with glass tops situated to face where customers walk in. One of these four-tiered racks usually holds various types of bread loaves, sometimes half loaves or small groups of slices. The second rack contains various smaller cakes and muffins, with the occasional roll baskets. The third rack contains small round rings of dough, occasionally topped with soft and sweet toppings or berries, a specialty developed by this shop.

The shop also offers a small selection of juices and teas.

Denizens

The owners of Carpe Donut are halfling couple, Hazana and Calsys Cinderkettle.

Hazana is the one who tends to the books and advertising for her wife. She has dark blonde hair and bright blue eyes, cheeks a little on the chubby side (she does serve as the primary taster of her wife's creations). She is open to new ideas, especially ones that can bring in more business or help her wife in her endeaors.

Calsys is the baker and she brought the donut into the world. This petite halfling has fiery red hair, often tied up into a pair of buns to keep it out of the way while she works, and hazel eyes. Her slight frame is often coated with a layer of flour and sugar from all of the baking she does. Calsys absolutely adores her wife, Hazana, and wants to create the perfect pastry for the other halfling woman.
