Geography
Katal is an Island Continent meaning that it does not physically connect with an other continents on Zadia. Home to many different climates Katal is essentially split into 5 sections, The Frostlands to the North, The Plains of Kesia to the west, The Elder Forest to the east, The Vatovian Desert in the middle, and The Wildlands to the South.
The Frostlands take up most of the northern third of Katal. Home to truly large and amazing features such as the Bayorn Mountains and the Frozen Sea of Atara, The Frostlands is a place of chilling wonder for adventurer's bold enough to brave it's subzero temperatures.
The Plains of Kesia is a smaller region on the western side of Katal. Being very flat and wide open has allowed it to soak up lots of rainfall from the Kesian Sea which makes the plains excellent farming soil for the residents of both Kesia and Dawnswood. It is not uncommon to come across traders and merchants when crossing The Plains of Kesia as travel conditions are usually favorable.
The Elder Forest is a very old and mysterious place to those unfamiliar with it. The large and vast forest is rumored to have stemmed from a single tree. Wild and amazing creatures can be found living within the The Elder Forest such as Rovian Rabbits and Terrans. A section of the The Elder Forest however has been infected with a dark energy and is covered in rot and decay, this portion is referred to as The Forgotten Forest.
The Vatovian Desert takes up a large portion of central Katal. This vast desert can be quite dangerous for those that don't know their way as the temperature can get hot enough to cook a Ancarani Serpent egg. Home to amazing places such as Vatos which boasts the Golden Market and Olgramor which is rumored to contain a palace of pure gold. The Vatovian Desert can truly be an amazing place for those equipped to handle it's harsh climate.
The Wildlands is a large and seemingly endless jungle covering almost the entire southern third of Katal. A very humid and damp climate has allowed races like the Lizardfolk and Yuan-Ti to thrive. The Wildlands got its name from the large and vicious flora and fauna that reside there. It is rumored that the Strahdian Mosquito can empty your entire body of blood as you sleep... that is if the Creeping Vine doesn't strangle you first.
