The Forgotten Forest

Dead forest on the eastern side of katal that has been ravaged and destroyed by the 5 century war and is now jaunted by all the souls that dies there.
The Forgotten Forest is a place of horrors and myths. It's known as the place that no one returns because, well, no one returns from there. The few that have ventured a little ways into the forest have returned insane, babbling nonsense about ghosts and spiders and snakes. The forest is a place of mystery, a place where no sane person would ever willingly venture.
The forest is a horrific place, haunted by the souls of the dead soldiers that passed in the 5 century war. The magic of Fenth spread to the battlegrounds and caused the dead to not really die, but to be trapped in a realm between mortality and the afterlife. The way to free these souls is unknown, however the souls do seem to terrorize any mortal that wanders in their way. The magic has also mutated the creatures, and the souls have driven them into madness and pure evil over the course of the 200 years. The trees are also very decayed and barren, but yet still seem to be alive in some, mysterious way. It's been said that they can communicate with living creatures, and they are in much, much pain.
