Solaris

Solaris is the main home for Sun Elves. It is one of the major Elf cities, and is a place of great beauty. It's history is bloody, but it's people righteous. King Lysander is a man of honor who was vowed to heal the wounds made by the previous ruler, King Alestan.

Demographics

Most of the city is made of Sun Elves. They are very proud of their heritage, but are also open to others to inhabit the city. Most citizens are expected to work to serve their city, this pays rather well. To most outsiders it is very hard to live there due to the drastically increased cost of living compared to places like Kesia. Most professions are things that improve the city, and the main artistry that is fostered and well paid are smiths.

Government

Solaris functions on a monarchy, and the King/Queen of this city sits on the Elder Council. King Lysander is the current king and is very popular with the populous. If a royal family line is broken, the council of the previous king holds a trial of combat where those who wish to be king battle for that position. This is a non fatal battle, and their choice is based on the qualities they show through their fight, not necessarily just who wins.

Defences

The city is high on a large plateau, with one main gate that commoners use. There are other ways in and out of the city, but these locations are not common knowledge. Holy archers are posted at the wall at all times, and guards patrol the city. The holy warriors of the Legion of Radiance have made this one of the most impregnable cities in all of Zadia.

Industry & Trade

Solaris is not known for it's trade, but its high tax on that trade and their citizens keeps them afloat. Their current monopoly on Luxum has left them as a very prosperous city.

Infrastructure

Most of their achievements come in their armor and weaponry. Their use of Luxum makes their tools of warfare second to none. Weapons and armor made with this material are called "Sun kissed".

Assets

Their main export is Luxum, a strong pale gold metal that has a bright shimmer wherever light hits it. This may be their biggest export, but it does not mean they send much of it out. It is an extremely rare material for those outside the city, and the sheer title of "Sun Kissed" will raise its price substantially.

Guilds and Factions

The people of Solaris are very unified in their love for their city and peoples, so guilds are not common. Their main guilds are the traveling clerics of the Sons of Dawn, a groups that preaches the glory of Asolus

History

Solaris has had a history of war and violence. For thousands of years, they have been in Incursions against the Moon Elves. These battles have been for a variety of different reasons, and most don't last very long. During The Great Incursion, the battle lasted for 20 years and caused the largest losses either peoples had ever faced.

Architecture

Their buildings are mostly made of a glossy white stone with lots of circular windows. Their roofs are golden and sun based designs are all over Solaris. The main palace is a tall central structure with 6 towers circling it. The palace is revered as one of the most impressive architectural feats in all of Zadia, and is on the bucket list of many adventurers.

Geography

Solaris is sorrounded by a few miles of plains before reverting back to the forest that surrounds the other elven kingdoms
