Kesia
Kesia the Mother City is the human capital on Katal. Named after the Mother Constellation Kesia, the Mother City is home to many great feats that only the human spirit is capable of producing, from the elaborate canal system in the Outer City, to the elegant yet powerful architecture of The White tower in the Inner City.
Demographics
Roughly 50,000 humans live with in the walls, these people are royalty, nobles, high ranking members of the Kesian Order, skilled artisans, as well as members of the Magistrate
Government
Kesia is governed by King Bellamy on all matters within the realms of Men. However a wise and humble leader King Bellamy use the advice and wisdom of The Royal Council. This council consists of Arch Magistrate Varen as Master of Magic, Bordon Tarrenglow as Master of Coin, Rhehnem Bannad as Master of War, and Cerise Benelli as High Keeper
Defences
The builders of Kesia have constructed an elaborate canal system outside of the wall throughout the Outer City not just as a transportation system but also a way to slow down and divide attacking forces. The Inner City is surrounded by a large wall with many guard towers throughout it. The only way in or out is through a large Iron gate that weighs as much as a the wall that surrounds it. Throughout both the inner and outer cities are guards upon guards from the Kesian Order.
Industry & Trade
Kesia is the largest producer of crops and livestock in all of Katal. This not only allows them to feed such a large population but helps when trading for metals and stone with the Dwarves of Agrathum. Most of the extra wool and hide from the livestock gets taken to the Golden Market in Vatos to be sold for gold.
Guilds and Factions
It is nearly impossible to discuss Kesia without mentioning the Kesian Order. Not just the name of the Kingdom's army but its governing body as a whole, the Kesian Order is under the command King Bellamy. Another faction that resides within Kesia is the Magistrate, the Magistrate is the ruling body on magic within Kesia and is under the command of Arch Magistrate Varen. The Church of Kesia is led by Cerise Benelli as High Keeper
History
Kesia was founded in year 0 1E to honor Kesia also known as the Mother Constellation, creator of the realms of men.
Throughout the 1st and 2nd Era Kesia was in many war's and conflicts and committed many atrocities to the Elven and Beast Races.
Architecture
Most of the Outer City is made up of wooden houses and shops of sturdy quality but nothing too extravagant. The wall that surrounds the Inner City however is made of incredible dense stone from deep within the Mines of Agrathum. The homes and shops are also made of this dense stone however it has been finely carved with ornate patterns and designs. Both the Palace of Kesia and The White Tower are made of a rare quartz that can withstand even the hottest Dragon fire.
Geography
Kesia sits on a peninsula that juts out into the Kesian Sea. Southwest of the The Plains of Kesia the soil on the pennisula is a also very black and fertile, combine that with the large amounts of rain that roll in from the Kesian Sea and you can see why citizens of the Outer City always have mud on their boots and trousers.
Natural Resources
Kesia farms most of the fertile lands North East of the capital in The Plains of Kesia, this provides them with many crops such as wheat, potatoes, and corn. They also use this land to farm livestock such as sheep, pig, and cattle.
