Bronze Age sword Item in Yeia | World Anvil

Bronze Age sword

Nobody knows where did it came from or to whom it belonged, there are multiple theories and myths related to this object, some consider it as magical, while others are attracted by its antiquity and its historical importance, as swords from the Bronze Age, especially in the human world are quite rare to find.

Theories about its origin

Actually, due to the shape and design of the blade this sword could have come from anywhere is western Teria or from the Seris Empire (the early seris arrived to the continent of Teria wielding swords of this type). Some people says that it was perhaps stolen from an abandoned The proto-Davidovian settlement. This isn't unusual as many adventurers, attracted by legends of unimaginable treasures and riches, as well as magical objects or objects related to the Age of Heroes, travel to these settlements to loot them.

Myths or Mythical figures associated with the sword

Ancient swords such as these are often associated with mythical figures from epic tales or myths. In case of these one there are multiple theories about its original "owner". One theory suggests that these swords once belonged to king Ruffios, Ikaros's great grandson with which he slained the King of the Goblins in battle. It is said that because the sword was once impregnated with the blood of the goblin king, it became a magical object, capable of paralyzing entire regiments of enemies.   Another theory states that this is the sword of Uttare, Kuchi's son with the goddess Pyria, the ancestor of the first two Imperial Seris dynasties and of the seris people as a whole. It is said that the handle was made of ivory and the pommel was made of gold and rubies, but if it is true, these were stolen hundreds if not thousands of years ago. The rubies were a gift from the elven hero Eyldrasin while the blade is said to have been forged by the goddess herself. The sword passed to Uttare's son, Togash, who committed suicide with that sword after his beloved wife, the Tyrin Seut had killed herself after after being tricked by the god of death, Khair, and subsequently, failing to protect the people of the land from an epidemy. It is said that the sword was taken from the body of the king and (because suicide was tabu in early seris society) the sword was thrown to a nearby river, as an impure and cursed object.

Ownership

It is not known who was its first owner. Its owner could be just a common soldier, a noblemen or a mythical hero. The sword first appears in records around 756 AP, as a donation from Banias's adventurers guild to the Order of the Knights of Light. The donation document, written in oronai, only states that it was given as an offering to the Wise Lord Yemmu by two Yemmuist adventurers but it doesn't say the origin of the artifact. Since then, the sword has been kept at Telorion Castle in a beautifully carved Blatian ivory chest at the Library of the Castle. So, if you want to see this ancient object, just ask Anne, the Librarian of Telorion Castle and she will show you!.

I love the idea that this sword *could* be a great relic from a mythical hero... but is probably just the arms of some common soldier.
