Diviner Veray
Diviner Oricia Veray
History
Early Life
The granddaughter of one of the sanctum's founders. Oricia is the third inheritor of Osela's blessing on the Veray family after her father and grandfather, who were each high-ranking members of the sanctum in the past. Her heritage within the sanctum meant Oricia was surrounded from a young age by the arcane, this combined with her natural curiosity this meant that Oricia could often be found wandering the halls of the the sanctum.
Like many members of the high council, Oricia was a naturally gifted mage, and was labeled a prodigy from a young age. Her skill in the arcane grew tenfold when, after her father fell in battle with a demonic horde, Oricia inherited her families blessing and the power that came with it.
Apprenticeship
When Oricia's father died, Philleas Auruman took it upon himself to serve as Oricia's guardian. While this was in part because of Oricia's young age and Philleas' friendship with the Veray family, Philleas also took in Oricia in hopes to teach her to control her newfound power.
The members of the Veray family that had recieved the blessing before Oricia had inherited the power once they were fully grown adults with years of experience in the arcane; however when Oricia recieved it she was only a child, barely ten-years-old.
Recalling his experiences with Jadel Cartos, Philleas remembered how dangerous too much magical energy in an unprepared body could be; and wishing to protect the young child of his close friend, Philleas adopted Oricia hoping to train her to better be able to withstand and control her vast power.
High Council and Astros Tower
After a decade of training with the Archmage as his personal apprentice, spent training and studying with the greatest mages the world had to offer, Oricia rose to the highest seat the Sanctum had to offer: a place on the high council, like her grandfather before her. Within five years Oricia had climbed her way to the third seat on the Council, only beneath the Archmage and Planeswalker Jadel Cartos; and, given her natural affinity for divination, was given the duty to oversee Astros Tower and the branch of the sanctum that operates out of it.
Physical Description
Special abilities
- The blessing of Osela that Oricia has inherited has granted her the ability to see possible futures with a much higher degree of accuracy and specificity than an average mage
- Osela's blessing has also granted Oricia a form of telepathy that allows her to bypass language barriers by speaking telepathically. This also gives her a limited ability to read and control people's thoughts, although she hesitates to use this ability
- Oricia is such a powerful diviner that she will often recieve visions even in her sleep, these visions are considered direct messages from Osela, as her divine domain is more powerful at night
- As Oricia's power is partly due to her blessing, she has the unique ability among mages to access both arcane and celestial magic
Specialized Equipment
- Allows Oricia to focus her abilities, both to grant her clearer visions, and to serve as her spellcasting focus.
- Although she is powerful, Oricia can still become easily overwhelmed by her visions; and the blindfold keeps them in check.
- Provides a significant boost in power and can be used to for magic in place of a night's sky; however rarely worn as it can make visions unstable and overwhelming.

History
The two met during a meeting between Archmage Auruman and Archdruid Presmaer, and bonded over their shared experiences in acting as the avatars for their deities.
