The Mythical School of Ancestry
Summary
Have you ever heard the tale that ancestors are there to protect us? Some believe that every time they pray to their ancestors. They are granted a glimmer of Ancestral Essense gets added to their soul. It is a legend that a great arcane master and scholar learned how to harness the magic within this so-called ancestral connection. It is called the lost school of arcana that deals with various techniques of chronurgy magic and graviturgy magic.
Historical Basis
Some cultures and religions gather strength from their ancestors. Iken "Cobalt Master" Rhineforrel learned a way to harness innate Ancestral Essense from ordinary family heirlooms. He developed a few Ancestral Anvils made from the magical properties of Cobalt Ore. He hid the technique and understanding of this ancestral magic in a few scrolls. These are called Ancestral Magic Scrolls. In the events before he died. He hid the Ancestral Cobalt Anvils in various locations. He crafted five of these anvils and proceeded to hide them around the Continent of Renstrom. He placed the largest one at the top of Teeter's Point and requested the Cloud Giants of the Pavian Mountains to send an oracle to protect it. He also gave one to his trusted friend Thorin Rhineforrel. He placed one within the Oasis of Life out of Death and one in the plains to the southwest. He also entrusted one with the Tonga family. The very family he trusted to keep his deepest secret.
As a member of the Tonga Family and the main wizard within the Grand Master Wizard Council, Vincent "Vinton" Tonga was able to find the Ancestral Magic Scrolls and continue some of the research that Iken "Cobalt Master" Rhineforrel started. However, something prevented him from continuing this research fully. He was called away to become the Grand Master of Enchantment. Ever since he stopped researching this subject. He focused all his attention on independent research projects that helped assist with running the Academy of Thorn'Adan.
Variations & Mutation
There have been various cultures that follow ancestral prayer as a guide to life. This has been researched and found in the depths of ruins around the Continent of Renstrom. The various ruins are as follows; Ruins of Noraka, Ruins of Thunder Quake Clan, Ruins of Hartlepool, and Ruins of the Enclave Vault. These locations have many relics and inscriptions that represent the importance of ancestors in daily life. Some say this is the origins of various ancestor spells like spirit guardians.
