The Antiquities Session 5: Gerdren and the Cobalt Rangers

General Summary

Traveled the Night of the 9th to Mid Day 10th In the Dragon's Lair again on Martius the 10th about late afternoon.
The party continued to venture through the desert heat (everyone but Nak'Zoog Mag Raz'Lay StoneGrave got mildly sunburned.), they eventually came across the main road leading to Arpin and decided to set up camp nearby (Nak and Tinika collect 2 Cactus Juice, and there was an exchange of vials for Grung poisons). As night fell, Leront took the first watch and after some time noticed the convoy ride past. After much deliberation amongst the party, Leront Fènwa Norixx decided to incept the convoy, invoking Mispira Veabrid's name as the "de facto Protector of Arpin" to request an audience with General Gerdren, Nak followed close behind. Scouts from the Cobalt Rangers appeared to escort the remainder of the party to Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel. All persuasions to keep Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel from taking the convoy to Arpin fell on deaf ears, Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel had no intention of selling the armor to anyone . Eventually, the party came clean about their quest from Sir Alfred Viken concerning the artifact and the fact that they wanted to keep it out of his hands.
Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel agreed with the sentiment and suggested that an arrangement be made: he takes the artifact and the armor back to Rhineforrel when the party finds it. The party confesses that they are in fact working for a brass Dragon from the North and that they need the armor. Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel knew of Eldenser "Hilda", Zendor's mother, who lives in the South. (Nak'Zoog Mag Raz'Lay StoneGrave at some point made mention of the looming threat of the Vow Tangible and information concerning it was exchanged) The group agreed to escort Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel and his convoy to the dominion of Zendor for further negotiations concerning the artifact.
Mispira Veabrid showed Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel the shattered orb and after further inspection, Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel revealed that it was made in Rhineforell and that his people would be happy to have it repaired and returned to Mispira. Luther showed up on the mule, was possessed again, uttered the omen: "The path to the Vow Tangible is lined in ruins. The breaking of the Vow is imminent. However, this arrangement has hope!", got pushed off of the mule by an Orc spirit, two other Orc spirits did not seem pleased.
Nak'Zoog Mag Raz'Lay StoneGrave and Heidi Roth cleared the traps (2 poison trap grenades - Tinika Cogshiner, and 1 poison trap grenades, 1 unknown trap- Heidi Roth) leading to their intended destination. Zendor, surprised by the mode of job completion, spoke to Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel about the artifact being one of five known as the "Relics of Gruumsh". Zendor really wanted the armor, but to prevent his mother's ire, settled for a full lesson from Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel concerning the armor's creation, of which Gerdren Arla Rhineforrel was happy to oblige. Zendor gave the party access to his library.
