Ace Healing Building / Landmark in World of Stendaaris | World Anvil

Ace Healing

Purpose / Function

Ace Healing's primary function is a healing establishment for the citizens of Vail. Dr. Sally Niganze can produce regular healing potions and has a minor alchemy station. Sally also is willing to teach proper usage of a healers kit to adventurers traveling in and out of Vail. Those willing to learn and spend time healing the sick can also train to receive the Healer feat.

Alterations

Ace Healing has two main alterations that are not visible to the standard commoner. The first alteration was a secret laboratory created by Acerow The Doctor to undergo various necromancy studies. Under Dr. Sally Niganze, this area became the new morgue.   The other alteration is something Dr. Sally Niganze had established. Since she is part of House Niganze's business operations, Sally set up another partition for black-market trading. She is willing to provide free aid for any rouge or criminal, as long as they have the proper terminology and knowledge to have access.

Architecture

The building on the exterior looks like any other shop, a two-story wooden structure. The main room is for tending to daily operations. The second floor has a personal residence and two extra rooms. There is also a hidden door in the back that leads to the cold cellar.

History

This building was handed down to various city healers of Vail for many years. All this changed one day when a Half-Elf wizard from the Academy of Thorn'Adan arrived as an intern. A few years later, the original owner died of natural causes. Acerow The Doctor was the intern and lead mortician on the previous owner's case. After that, no more interns ever came to the clinic for future training. Acerow The Doctor seemed to get impossible tasks completed that should involve multiple interns to assist. Some thirty-some years ago, Acerow The Doctor went on a trip to Mount Roma and never returned. When his death was reported, and was found to be a member of the Silver Shadow Clan. Mayor Ambros Tonga requested an investigation into the clinic. They learned that it was used as a body harvest location for the Silver Shadow Clan. Acerow The Doctor would turn corpses into zombies or even undead skeletons to assist with his mortician duties. The main zombie doing mortician work was the previous owner, and he looked like a flesh golem because of all the experiments that Acerow The Doctor did to him.   In the years since the uncovering of Acerow The Doctor's exploits, the city of Vail hired clerics to help rid the vile stain of undeath from this once cherished venue of life. That is when Dr. Sally Niganze entered as the new owner of the clinic. Unfortunately, once she opened her doors, Vail did see a slight increase in criminal and pirate influence enter the city.
