The Dark Seer

The Dark Seer was the presumed leader of The Contingency, a mysterious organization behind the overthrow of the reign of King MaxMarcus VI of Hindland and the ongoing destabilization of the nation.
He was identified by a Hindland resistance diviner, known as "Bichael," but otherwise his existence had never been verified until the Defiling of Holy Hill
The resistance organization diviner reported an ongoing conflict with the Dark Seer, whom he said was also a powerful diviner. Bichael attempted to thwart the strategic planning of the Dark Seer through his own ability to predict the future.
Bichael reportedly succumbed to death as the result of a mental duel with the Dark Seer, the nature of which defies a simple explanation.
It is believed the Dark Seer merchanted in mastery over the future by learning to affect the outcome of his own prophecies through simple actions. Bichael learned of this method, and attempted to counter it.
Engaging in this "duel," it is believed, led to the death of Bichael through indirect means, set into motion by the Dark Seer.

The Defiling of Holy Hill

A group of Hindland resistance agents allegedly encountered the Dark Seer during the event known as the Defiling of Holy Hill.
He was reported as an "average looking human," male, with black hair and spectacles.
He was strangely aloof to the present circumstances of the lopsided battle. He demonstrated defensive magical abilities, using a Web spell to impair his opponents, but otherwise relied on his agent, the Finger of the Seer, to perform combat.
Even more strangely, after the execution of The Contingency's primary target, the Dark Seer reportedly seemed to leave his body, then allowing it to be effortlessly killed.
As with all reports about the leadership behind The Contingency, the stories of the Dark Seer are considered unreliable at best.
